Own root (rooted cutting) but you’d believe me if I had said seed grown with that monster root.
Very old plant if you could already tell by the root.

The vari head has had an elongated apex for awhile now, although it’s remained at 8 ribs the whole time. If you look closely you can seen where it’ll be adding more ribs.

Seeds from a variegated cristata go hard. Let me know if you’d like to see an example of my vari cris(sibling of this one )x vari batch and I’ll post it in the comments. What popped up blew me away.

Aztekium valdezii with fresh roots of its own, that recently trimmed, fresh roots are just starting to pop out. I try to only trim aztekium roots when they have fresh ones like this cuz they blow up with growth afterwards. I had no idea Aztekium could that fast on their own roots until then.
