Birthday Package

Birthday Package

Huge thanks to u/Cautious_Cherry_147 for this amazing offer package that arrived on my birthday.

It has everything. Tiny candy broaches and key chain. Washi tape. A hair scrunchee. Papers, stickers, stamps for wax seals, little figurines. Label ephemera.

So touched and grateful. It’s a wonderful package and I love it all. It’s like they could read my mind of all the things I’d love. It’s a beautifully curated package for me.

Mini wax Sealed Cards

I’ve graduated from tags to mini cards.

I’m still working out how to make envelopes for these.

I’ve had a lot of fun making these and using seals to embellish them.

The Headless Horseman 1974 limited edition 10 cent stamp (although well over a million were made some lots are still in circulation)

Thanks to u/withinus for introducing me to this stamp. My husband who is a huge fan of this character from the animated Disney film with Bing Crosby - Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad had to have them and found a mint sheet of them on eBay. Even though it’s my birthday seeing him excited is an amazing gift. He will be framing this to go with his limited edition headless horseman Disney pin.

I guess our collection grows.

Thank you for my birthday part invite u/MikaHimee

What a great way to celebrate birthdays and eat more cake.

Love the cute stickers. There was adorable art in the card too.

First Seal Card

So I used the wrong weight of paper and where I scored it, it ripped eventually. It was a good learning opportunity and now I’ve made my first tiny seal card.

Feeling Blue? Just Seal It

Blue seals for a dear friend.

The second pic is a technique I saw on Instagram. You make a thin veneer and then punch out a shape. Stick it to your blank stamp head and then press it into a blob. For some reason it didn’t work like on instagram. Does anyone have any tips for this method.

I see this used on instagram a lot. But I can never get what ever I’m pressing to stay on top of the blob it always sinks.

They use this technique with flowers, greenery, wax veneer cut outs. I’m not sure what I’m missing here.

Vampire’s Blood Seals

I’m not a huge fan of red wax or red anything so I was really struggling with this challenge. But I decided to use the black onyx glitter confetti to really goth up a few seals that kind of may be appropriate for a vampire theme.

I was really pleased with the end result. I hope the new owner finds them just as charming as I did making them.

The picture captures more of the colour shift in the confetti but in person they are quite metallic black and red.

Chameleon Powders

I finally got some. I didn’t do a great job applying them with my fingers. Eye shadow applicators on their way!

And while they don’t shift I’m loving the effect especially on the pumpkin and like u/AbaloneFountainPen would say these pics do the colours no justice lol.

Some of these seals were part of a vampire black and red challenge and will be going off to live with a new owner soon.

Envelope Art

I hand glued all those mini green stars. What was I thinking.

I’m a bit obsessed with out lining the backs of envelopes. It’s like putting on a Tux for them and I’m all for it.

I love adding the extra details but sometimes I wonder if the machines will rip it off.

I’ve also learned that my fountain pen ink isn’t indelible so I’ve switched to sharpie. I don’t love the look but I have a plan to source a label punch and modge podge it before adhering it so I can continue to use fountain pens and inks.

What do you use to write on your envelopes?

A Hidden Message Tag

Tiny vellum envelope inside a doily cone with three red hearts

I’m loving this idea of hiding tiny envelopes in my tags. Something I want to explore more.

I still need to seal this but I need to source tiny stamp heads. It’s too difficult with my massive stamp head.

I’m still obsessed with Tags. (And a little hidden surprise)

Yes I know I have a problem but it’s a lifestyle not a hobby.

Seals minutes before going on a journey to a far away land

Seals for an exchange with another Redditor.

I’m loving the onyx glitter confetti on the heart envelope and birthday seal. This might be my new fav combo.

The ask was for champagne pink, browns and olive green.

I used confetti for the champagne bubbles.

How did I do?

Green with Envy & Pinking It Up

Creating some seals for a friend.

Made shades of green by adding two white wax beads after each pour.
Then made my own olive green wax by mixing colours that I didn’t write down so I can’t recreate exactly as seen again lol.

With pink it’s not as easy to do a gradient because you start with white and add a sliver of red wax. Adding more white beads after each pour doesn’t necessarily make it shades of lighter pink. So you have to play and add more slivers of red.

Not sure if anyone has a trick for getting gradients of pink seals.
