Intro

So far I have ran two 10 milers in them.

Fit/Upper

The fit is true to size, size 11 was perfect. I did not have to size up like I did In the Evo Sl and Pro 4.
The upper hasn’t been an issue for me. I know many have had issues with rubbing on the ankles due to the stiff ankle collar.
I have not experienced that at all. I suspect that is probably only an issue with the first release red pairs and the reason Adidas delayed the release a month in the US. To fix it.
The upper is not breathable in the sense that you can actually feel the air coming through the material during a run like the Evo, but at the same time, I did not find it warm or hot in a 10 milers run. It was fine.

The Lacing system is a little strange, but at least it’s not Adidas super cheap laces, they have some stretch to them.

Performance/Midsole

If you like the Evo Sl, you will like this more with a caveat.
It feels like a softer bouncier more premium Evo SL and is a joy to run in, however the Evo SL can go faster. Due to the high stack/geometry the shoe starts to feel a little clunky for me below 7:30 per mile. It’s just a big shoe. This however is a magnificent cruiser. Anything from 7:30 all the way up to 11 min per mile pace has felt great.

People say it’s not too soft, but it’s pretty soft. Probably not a lot have ran in the adistar 3/4, but if you have, imagine that landing softness with more than Evo Sl pop back. That’s about the best way I can explain it.

Stability is not an issue with this shoe. If the Evo didn’t work for you, I would suggest giving this a try.

If I had to compare it to anything, I would say it’s a better Evo Sl at cruising speeds, and can handle long distances with a stable platform.
The bounce reminds me of the prime x, almost trampoline like, however with this weighing noticeably less than the prime x, Im not really sure when I will be reaching for the prime x again. I would prefer this and it’s cheaper.

Looking for suggestions to fill out my rotation

Currently leaning towards the takumi and or rise 3, or should I skip them hold out for the evo sl 2 and the pro 5?
