note: the geometric sum probably isnt on the test, i wrote it to connect the geometric sequence to something i learned in ap calc :]

me when evb starts frantically posting "urgent!!! help me get this on the ACT instantly??!" only 1 week before the test

cmon yo i suggest you guys start doing this a little earlier and also ask more specific questions related to your struggles instead of "save my math pls" or "get me a 36 pls" these reddit advice people are not mcdonalds cashiers serving up your 36 like fries son 🥀

like this is not me trying to be mean because genuinely you will get more helpful advice and be more prepared by making the most of this sub by being early, being specific, and doing your own research and expanding upon that too 😔😔

ok im a mega procrastinator too but not being proactive causes me to mess up majorly and i learned to make many plans to target specifically my mistakes and clear up any critical confusions well before the test so i wouldnt be scrambling and desperate right before 🙏

don't give up and your dreams will come true 💕💕

blessed with this result from my paper test at 10:39 AM EST <33

i never thought i would be able to pull this off, but after believing in myself, practicing over and over again, and manifesting for everyone on this sub, it seems that positivity and perseverance were the best strategies for me! 💕💕

- form: j04

- times taken: third time's the charm :3 (35 october ➡ 34 april ➡ 36 june)

- curves: -2 for 35 math, -0 for 36 english, -0 for 36 reading

happy to answer any questions or support july testers!! 🙏

🧿🔮🙏 manifesting for yall tomorrow 🔥🔥🔥

a year ago from today, i was near tears, because i was so nervous about what my score would be. there was so much pressure, and so much expectations. upperclassmen i knew were constantly posting 1560s and 1580s. however, i ended up being very happy with what i got. i improved 90 points after weeks of hard work and achieved my target score of 1500+!

but more important than that was what i learned. i shoved up two bluebook practices a day leading up to the test, i rigorously combed through mistakes and didn't give up. i learned to commit to something and turn it into action. i built stamina and i built pride and confidence in my diligence. i took these habits to ap exams and to homework.

whatever you guys see tomorrow, i manifest it will be what you have always wanted! but regardless of if a 900 or 1600 appears on your screen, what loaded will likely feel smaller a year from now than it did tomorrow. what will matter more is what you choose to do after your score and how you choose to feel about yourself. 🙂

interesting summer program results?

no ISEF or Olympiad participation or placements, no math competitions, no published papers, no university lab research internship (at the time when I was applying). used to be discouraged and roasted on this sub for having no chance on an old throwaway, but I'm more than happy with what I have now :]

pro hack: some people can find out their ap exam scores early

dual enrolled students + incoming seniors who used score send to their colleges: u can find out your ap exam scores a couple days early (usually around july 1) by logging in to their college portal and generating an advising report/navigating an internal credit dashboard! colleges process the files several days in advance to handle credits.

  1. log in to your online student portal

  2. locate the main navigation menu and look for a section similar to academics

  3. find an unofficial transcript or transfer credit report

  4. scroll down to view the section about incoming credit or credit for this year

  5. the exams will appear (may be abbreviated or formatted weird) and show the credits

attached is a screenshot from when i pulled this off last year! (the 01/01 is random, it sent 07/01)

(some abbreviations, could be different for your college: artg = 2d art and design, chnlc = chinese, gvam = gov, amhs = apush, evsc = apes, geog = ap hug)

(ignore the sat score it was the legacy paper one and i did it in 8th grade, never sent a new one here 😅)

holy moly why is 3 missed reading questions a 31 💀

did act 25-26 prep book test 3, the reading section I was in a very loud area and was distrubed when reading the passages, and had to move locations twice so I couldn't focus. surprisingly, I missed only 3 questions, but it was a 31 on the scale, I thought it was a harder practice test than the others too 💀 how does that even work??

bombed calc bc due to illness, the "analytic foundation of the MIT education". would something like this impact admissions?

i commented this on another post, but i'm really anxious. i have a 97 in calc bc and have done very well all year long, 100s on many tests. i got very sick over the weekend but our school policy doesn't allow skipping the exam without a doctor's note and communication with the AP coordinator, and it was far too late for that. i had a splitting headache, nausea, and chills during the exam and couldn't think straight, and i think i got a 4, maybe the bare, bare minimum for a 5 according to score calculators.

"Math, including calculus, the analytic foundation of the MIT education" is listed on the mit admissions page as one of 3 main categories evaluated to see if we're well-matched for MIT. there is a SPECIAL section for calculus talking about how it is foundational on the webpage and a video. it seems more important than other scores and courses here.

with this context in mind, i'm worried about how a 4 on a calculus AP exam specifically would disadvantage in the admissions process compared to a similar applicant with a 5. i agree that a 3 or 4 in a subject unrelated to major or to mit's needs may be okay, but what do you think about this? i am applying as an engineering major where calculus would clearly be a very important topic. i come from a very competitive public school, and i am doing multivar in the fall.

also: is it worth mentioning in additional info or is that too stupid/overreacting?

why do you write like you're running out of time

only just finished reviewing the content with a couple of weak points and just starting practice after having done 2 frq sets over a week ago 😭😭 how am i gonna even remember everything

u/CalligrapherAble3312 — 2 months ago

help poor kid with 1 day left to study for bc

i just had 4 aps last week so i was locked in for those. i did two frq's last week (2024 & 2023) and got 92% (peeking at a formula sheet i made couple times though SOB) on 2024 and 85% on 2023 (no sheet peeking in sight 😉) but those frqs didn't have polar on them, only like arc length for polar, so im really scared ill miss a whole polar frq. also have done ZERO mcq.

whats the most efficient way should i study cause i don't remember anythingggggg and also how hard is it to get a 5 (i believe the cutoff is 65% but my friend said she studied her butt off and still got a 4)?

I GOT OFF THE SEES WAITLIST

edit: guys im 95% rejecting this because i have to go to garcia instead, but for your knowledge i have to decline by may 14 so hopefully this helps a fellow waitlister out soon and be on the lookout for possible waitlist acceptances by or after that date!!

WHAT NO WAY I DID NOT EXPECT THIS NO WAY.

i already committed to garcia and this is virtual but the schedules conflict... guess I will have to give it up :'( I'm more than happy to go to garcia, one of my top choices, but this was very cool and i had worked very hard on my application and video. but i had committed to garcia 100% after knowing sees had waitlisted me and assuming it was almost impossible to get off. had filled it out after some people encouraged me to try and see if it would work out.

bruv i put this thing off so hard i went thru barron's units 1-9 taking notes & doing practice mcqs and frq quizzes like 3 weeks ago then forgot it existed and now i'm here today panicking because the cutoff for a 5 varies widely (65-78%) and im scared cause i dont know anything

i took notes throu the entire AP ced and aboutta spam practice now please wish me the best and lmk if u have any last min tips!! also help with memorizing conditions, unit 4 probability, choosing tests, frqs and mcq style in general?? i heard there were a lot of "conceptual" questions that were hard

these dashed lines here are black in ap classroom but they were pastel rainbows and browns on the real exams i sat for today. like i wasn't the only one who saw it too

i literally just noticed this today and was like wow what if its an undertale reference where the normal video game characters are black and white but the final boss is in the rainbow multiverse?? lore??

am i going nuts or 😭😭😭

u/CalligrapherAble3312 — 2 months ago

bio: 49/60 mcq and 32/33 on 2025 past frq + 30/33 on a mock frq

i finished with the sat last june summer of sophomore year and decided any additional benefits beyond my current score would probably be marginal and not worth risking.

anyways ive been hearing a lot of talk about the may sat and people stressing so i hope i can help some people out :)

im not very good at math so i worked on that mostly...

1350 (660 rw, 690 math) -> 1450 (750 rw, 700 math) -> 1540 (770 rw, 770 math)
