Drew up this tapestry pattern for my next project. Are the dots too much?

I made this pattern my plan is to have it as almost like a banner,(not sure the correct word to use), wooden dowel on top and bottom for aesthetic and ease of hanging but I was curious, are the dots too much, to match the fish I want to it needs the dots. I have a feeling though when I actually stitch it the black dots will not be as prominent? Any thoughts, or suggestions? Also what would be the best stitch to use I am pretty decent at crocheting but still learning, I’ve only done a couple of tapestry projects and still need to get better at color switches, any advice on that would be appreciated as well! Thank you hope you like the pattern!

Smoked trout help

I have acquired a decent amount of trout fillets over the spring and summer and have them frozen. I would like to smoke them but recently I tried Fishwifes smoked tinned trout and want to replicate it if possible if anyone has tried it and has recommendations I would appreciate it. If not I am looking for tips in general, any beginner mistakes or brine recipe recommendations.

Got new kitten face is a little swollen

Got this cute little guy from a friend, he is about 9 weeks old. To me his face looks a little bit puffy. What do you think? The person whom I got the cat from said when he got conjunctivitis but they took him to the vet and treated it. Could he still be recovering or is it coming back?

Trying to grow baby greens

I want to grow baby greens to have my own salad so that I know it has no pesticides or other harmful chemicals. I did a lot of research and started a little set up. From what I had found I thought I was supposed to plant pretty dense. Well now that they have sprouted I wonder if I need to thin. I have 3 different kinds of lettuce in the tray, and spinach in the pot. What do you guys recommend? Doing this on a budget so trying not to have to buy a grow light.

Swimming for marathon training

I have a marathon in 4 months. I’ve been running, wanted to multi sport train so I got into swimming. I’ve known how to swim since I was a kid but never really lap swam. Just did my first session training and man I hate it. Is it worth it to keep with it to help strengthen my body and cardiovascular or if I don’t like it should I just keep to running.

I’m going to start upping my runs. Currently I run 3 times a week day one 4 miles, day two 8 miles, day three 6 miles. Then I wanted to swim on one of my off days. I also do body weight and light weight training on the run days.

Any advice is much appreciated. I ran a half marathon last year then quit running for 4 months and am getting back into it again. I hike a lot and do strenuous long days for my job so that makes it hard to stay consistent with training.

Spokane River Fishing?

I am going to be in Spokane for a conference soon. Hotel is right on the Spokane River. I would like to fish it in the evening or morning when I have free time. Any tips would be appreciated on places to go for flies to use. Obviously don’t tell me your all time favorite spots if you have any in town. But I just want a general idea. Also any tips on regulations and what to look for would be great. First time to Spokane. If you don’t want to comment and potentially hot spot somewhere please shoot me a DM. Also will a 9ft 5wt be enough for the river?

After a quick google search that I should have done before posting I found that the Spokane River is closed while I will be there. Is there any other water near down town or within close driving distance that I could fly fish?

I found this disc to a reel about a month ago and have tried to get it back to its owner, no luck finding them. Is there a way I could buy just the other part of the reel since this is just the disc then I’d have a functional reel.
