need advice asap

Hello guys this might sound crazy to some lol but i’m gonna spill the beans. Me and 2 other of my friends are 19 and have passion for nice cars and what not . We saved enough money to put a downpayment for a c8 corvette which would cost us around 500$ monthly. We want to do our own car rental company but there’s literally nobody we can find that wants to give us insurance or commercial insurance is insanely expensive some guy told us 4-5k each month for a 4-5 month policy only. lol car payments were never the problem it’s always the fricking insurance. any advice yea we can buy prolly economy cars but that’s friggin boring and what’s the fun in that. We understand all the risk and what not there’s no talking us out of it so don’t try we just need some advice on how to go about it. We were just gonna use turo since we have someone 21+ permission to set up the account but is there anyway else since we want to do it through our own stuff/website and get 100% of the profits . YES i know there’s reckless drivers it’s a 2 door sports car . We’re young and the company is just getting off of its feet. we just need to know what companies can we use and that will approve of us . it’s 2 more of us and both have stable jobs.

NYC DEP Apprentice Construction Laborer help pls

I interviewed for the NYC DEP Apprentice/Construction Laborer position on July 17 in the 1:30 PM group. I was told there are around 65 positions available.
I know someone who interviewed July 16 at 9 AM for the same position/location. He recently got a phone call to schedule his second interview for next week. I haven’t received a callback yet.
My interview seemed to go well overall. I emphasized safety, reliability, willingness to learn, and wanting a long-term career. I also have wastewater experience at Veolia, OSHA-30, and plumbing/HVAC training. My concern is that some of my specific examples for the structured questions weren’t very strong.
For anyone who went through this DEP hiring process: **How long after your first interview did you get contacted for the second? Are callbacks sent out in batches, by interview group, or based on interview scores? Did anyone get contacted significantly later than other candidates and still get hired?**
Also, if you interviewed July 16–17 this year, have you received a second-interview call yet?

NYC DEP Environmental Protection

How long after structured interview did you hear back?
I recently interviewed for the NYC DEP Environmental Protection Construction Laborer Apprentice position. The interview was a structured interview with 8 questions, and I was told the driving portion is also part of the interview process.
I haven’t completed the driving portion yet. I noticed the posting says there are around 65 positions available.
For anyone who has gone through the DEP apprenticeship hiring process or a similar NYC civil service hiring process:
How long did it take to hear back after the structured interview?
Did they contact you separately to schedule the driving portion?
How soon after the interview did you get that email/call?
Was there a long wait between the driving portion and the final hiring decision?
Just trying to get an idea of the timeline and what to expect. Thanks!

Need Help/Advice

I’m 18 and just graduated high school. This summer I’ve been working as an operator intern at a wastewater treatment plant for a large water company. For entry-level operator positions here, all you need is a driver’s license and a high school diploma, then you work toward your licenses while gaining experience.
I’ve gotten really cool with the supervisors, operators, and managers and they’ve given me a lot of hands-on experience and responsibility for an intern. Starting Monday I’ll also be working 40 hours a week, so I’m hoping to make the most of the opportunity and learn as much as I can.
I’d really like to turn this into a full-time job after the summer. I hear they interview people fairly often for openings, so I’m wondering what I can do over the rest of the summer to make sure I’m the obvious choice when a position opens up.
For those already in wastewater, what are the biggest things managers look for when hiring? And realistically, what are the chances an intern who gets along well with everyone, shows initiative, and works hard ends up getting hired full-time?

LOCAL 1 NEEDED HELP

I’ve been waiting months for the Local 1 Elevator Industry recruitment to open. The application window opened at 10:00 AM while I was in school. Due to poor Wi-Fi, I stepped away for a few minutes, and when I came back less than five minutes later, recruitment was already full.

It’s honestly disappointing. I’ve been preparing and waiting for this opportunity for a long time, only to see it fill almost immediately. I understand there is a high level of demand, but it’s frustrating when such a limited application window can determine whether someone even gets a chance to apply.

At this point, I’m exploring other opportunities as well. I’m 18 years old, graduating high school this month, currently enrolled in BOCES Plumbing and Heating, working as a Wastewater Operator Trainee, and employed at BJ’s Wholesale Club. I’m eager to start a career in the skilled trades and willing to work hard to prove myself.

If anyone knows of apprenticeship opportunities, trade positions, or entry-level openings on Long Island, I would greatly appreciate any leads. I’d be happy to send over my resume.

Thank you.
