PSA: If you want to be buried in a vet's cemetery, get pre-approved *now*

No matter how young and healthy you think you are. I am the personal representative for a vet who died an unexpected and untimely death, and I am going through Hell trying to get him buried. Found out that "pre-approval" for burial in a veterans' cemetery is possible, and I wish he had done it. You don't want to know the torment the funeral director and I are going through to get this done. My vet was found deceased literally two weeks ago, and we still don't have the funeral even scheduled. His body is lying there in a cooler at the funeral home, silently waiting. I loved him, and this is tearing me up.

Edit: I think this is the page where you start the process--

A Virginia Beach mom’s nonprofit helps families through pregnancy loss after her own stillbirth

For Wilson, that support gap became clear almost immediately after Kennedy’s death. As her family navigated the loss, they found there was nothing small enough, or appropriate enough, for Kennedy to wear at her funeral.

“So they were even looking at, like, doll clothes,” Wilson said. “And even though she was five pounds, and though there may be preemie clothes in the store, they’re not appropriate for a funeral. They’re onesies.”
