PSA: If you want to be buried in a vet's cemetery, get pre-approved *now*
No matter how young and healthy you think you are. I am the personal representative for a vet who died an unexpected and untimely death, and I am going through Hell trying to get him buried. Found out that "pre-approval" for burial in a veterans' cemetery is possible, and I wish he had done it. You don't want to know the torment the funeral director and I are going through to get this done. My vet was found deceased literally two weeks ago, and we still don't have the funeral even scheduled. His body is lying there in a cooler at the funeral home, silently waiting. I loved him, and this is tearing me up.
Edit: I think this is the page where you start the process--
