Asio Help

I've been attempting to get my spark2 amp to work within RS 2014 and have made a complete mess of it!

It hasn't detected input, but I now also cant get sound out from the game. Any ASIO experts able to offer advice? If it helps, Im using RSMods to configure it.

My First HB

I’ve been playing 7 months, and spent most of my journey so far playing an Ibanez Gio.

Just picked up this ST-Modern Plus and everything about it just feels so high quality compared to the Gio.

It was listed as B-stock with a saving of 22% off the list price, but suspect it was unplayed because there was still plastic protective wrap on it. The only “faults” I can see are a small blemish on one of the pickups, and the tone knob sticking slightly when turning between 2-3.

Very happy with my purchase!

Online courses

I’ve been learning for a few months now using a mixture of Justin guitar and yousician

With Justin I’ve completed all of beginner module 1 and most of beginner module 2, as well as playing a bunch of his songs

Yousician I picked up super cheap, and have gold starred the first 5 learning modules, got 3 silver stars on the 6th module and am working my way through the 7th but finding this one a lot more difficult.

I’ve started looking at other courses and am drawn to 2 and wondering if anyone has experience of either?

Guitartricks - I really like the academically structure with clear pathways for progression

Zero2Hero - I’m not sure if this has any structured pathways, and mainly seems to be around learning songs, but from the songs I’ve followed on YouTube there is a lot of clarity with both visuals and descriptions to play though songs.

String Question

I’m very much a beginner with guitars, having only started playing around Christmas ‘25.

Recently my g string snapped, having had the strings on a while I replaced them all. Then just over a week later my g string snapped again.

Both times the snap has happened at the bridge, but I can’t see any rough spots that much be causing it. I’ve gone over the area with some soft cotton to see if any stick as a way to check if there is a burr.

My questions
- is there anything further I can do to check if there is an underlying cause?

- given the strings are quite new, should I change them all? I think I probably will, given you buy them as a set, and I’ve gone for some D’addario strings where I’ve previously used Ernie ball regular slinky

- I’ve been practicing strumming a lot, which could very well be the cause, but probably only had 10-15 hours use before the string snapped. Is it worth using a thinner pick while focusing on strumming to reduce the wear?

Audio cable help

I’ve moved to a new laptop and can’t get any input from audio cable, any suggestions?

The cable works fine in windows recorder and in Rocksmith. From yousician, it detects the cable but no input from it. So far I’ve tried the following:
- different usb ports
- checked windows privacy to ensure yousician is allowed access to mic
- updated all drivers
- confirmed the mic frequency is on 48,000htz
