Okay so I've realised one thing...the people who grew up getting bullied by siblings, or smth, grew up ready to respond to getting roasted mid Convo and it does not get awkward with them. and ppl who had a very loving and sweet family growing up, often times take a lot of time trying to respond to banter with friends or smth.

The friends I have, they grew up with older sibling or wtv and have grown accustomed to this shit and responding to banter is almost second nature to them.

If i talk abt myself, I am an only child with emotionally sensitive (in a good way) and very empathetic parents. I GET SHUT DOWN IN CONVERSATIONS WITH BANTER.

i mean not that much, I've been working on ts, and I think having the type of friends that I do, (very socially fluent and funny people) I think Ive been developing it but I still get shut down in social banter.

How does one know, that the person you're friends with, ACTUALLY likes you and is not just faking it?

In my life I've always had people who didn't like me behind my back and now when I'm finally starting to become friends with this one particular person, I always find myself asking whether they genuinely enjoy my company or not. And it's not even the fact that they act in a certain way as to make me feel otherwise—they have made it clear several times, but even the slightest change in routine/tone/whatever leads me into thinking as if this is all just them faking it.

Our dynamic switches at times. Sometimes they are the ones initiating and sometimes I'm the one initiating. Whenever they are the one initiating, I'm fine and i like it. But whenever it's time for me to initiate, I feel like I'm burdening them with it.

It always happens. It's as if, I'm ready to accept any flaws in my friends but I am constantly scared that they'd run away, if they happened to see the smallest of flaws in me.
