Old things, new beginnings

After getting an iPod Classic I also ended up grabbing a 2011 iMac and the original AA battery powered Keyboard and Trackpad. I'm back to ripping CDs and organising an iTunes library. Perfect little setup in the corner of my office!

A few of my favourite things

Mid-2012 MacBook, with a disc drive and can’t load websites
iPod Classic 160GB, for true music ownership
Field Notes, to help manage the brain noise
Casio AE1200, which has one job (time)
Embossed labeller, for imperfect but aesthetic labels
Date stamp, for rough but accurate date recording

Not shown - my camera 😄

My phone screen time is at an all time low, but still averaging 3-4 hours a day because I post photography stuff or watch content to do with digital minimalism and hobby stuff

Second Casio in less than a week since ditching the Apple Watch

And I’m sure there will be more 😎

My first Casio

And certainly not my last!

Growing up I never liked wearing watches, then the Apple Watch became a thing and since then I’ve worn one, with my latest being the Ultra 2.

In a bid to live a less digitally distracting life I decided it was time to get a normal watch, and after a few weeks of deliberation I settled on the black AE1200

I guess I’ve always been a Sony guy

Admittedly quite an obvious gap in the middle where camera phones took over 😅

Switching from iPhone 17 Pro Max to Nothing

I've been researching for the last week about this but keen to here first hand accounts. I'm looking to switch away from an iPhone as my main device, nothing against Apple I'm just kind of bored and I want to experience something new.

I've picked up a cheap Nothing Phone (1) which will be arriving later today, this is to get myself used to Android and I'll be running it alongside my iPhone. Basically learning how best to organise backups of media, work out what apps or features I might miss on the basics front.

At some point I'll want to upgrade the Phone (1) and I've been looking at either the 3a Pro or the 4a Pro. I much much prefer the look of the 3a Pro but understandably the 4a Pro will have a slightly longer life for updates and I assume all around a better phone.

Has anyone upgraded from a 3a Pro to the 4a Pro, and did you notice a huge difference, or is there not much in it? If there's a third option I haven't thought of I'd be keen to hear it.

I should mention the camera is important with the caveat that I have a proper camera that I actually would like to use more and be more intentional with, but I fall back and rely on my iPhone far too much

Game Mode idea - Horde mode where UESC are invading the server station where our consciousness is held (and shells are printed?) Runners team up to stop them

Probably would be good as a quads party/chill mode?

Factions could matter transfer weapon crates through each round, maybe have the need to spend certs for better drops.

Rewards would be cosmetics, codex and credits. No loot to be carried out.

A little Thomas outing today

First time out since finishing my gloves! Had the top of my thumb pop off 😩 Need a better way to secure each piece

Understandably playing into the bait here, but leading the charge for Marathon to fail to send a message to Sony is quite frankly disgusting behaviour.

Happy 20 years to Electroma

(Took this photo of my new gloves yesterday not realising it was the anniversary!)
