Gradient key caps?

Ok, I need someone why actually has an eye for design. I, for some reason, fell in love with the colors of the key cap set shown here. However, my husband (a hobbyist mechanical keyboard builder) won’t let me get them because he says they are cheap and bad. So I have a silly idea to purchase a custom set where I individually indicate the color of every key….

I tried translating the colors directly to a simplified layout, but 1) the layout of my keyboard means certain columns would be removed causing disjointed areas, and 2) I would prefer slightly more color differentiation in the top right and bottom left. So here is my attempt….. but I keep seeing areas where I’m like “is that right?”. So do any areas stand out to anyone as being not quite right?

(Note: I am NOT a graphic designer and have no design tools. I just used PowerPoint and sometimes averaging RGB color values. So if you have a suggested fix that’s all I’ve got to work with, sorry!)

Should I be able to hear space heater and keyboard keys with my new XM6?

TL;DR - is there anything I need to do to get the “magic” noise cancelling performance of the Sony WH-1000XM6? Kind of underwhelmed at the moment.

Hi, I am not an audiophile. Just someone who likes good noise cancelling headphones to focus. I owned the Sony MDR-100ABN headphones for almost a decade and loved them. But when I tried to replace the ear pads I wonder if I jostled something because it just felt like they didn’t work AS well. That’s fine, due for a new pair anyway after 10 years, and after researching, it sounded like the new Sony WH-1000XM6 were what I wanted. Rave reviews. I’ve got them now, and I just don’t feel like they are working as “magically” as everyone said they would? The reviews made it sound like I’d be completely cocooned in silence. But I can still hear the small space heater a few feet away, my keyboard keys clicking, and kind of like a background whir. I’ve checked that “noise cancelling” is on, not “ambient”. Anything else?

When I’ve actually got some li-fi music playing it’s a little better, but still. After 10 years of tech development since my last pair I really thought it would be a huge leap forward…

Edit: I tried pushing on the over ear portion and it got better. It’s almost like there’s not a good enough seal? Like the tension is too loose? Any way to tighten that? Because once I let go they go back to how they were

Do I remove any parts of a cooked short rib before serving?

A friend recently had a mastectomy and I’m bringing dinner over tomorrow to celebrate one week of recovery. I know she loves short ribs (who doesn’t) and I have a great recipe for braised short ribs in porter ale with maple rosemary glaze that I’ve made for my family many times. I’ve just finished cooking them to bring over tomorrow, and I’m realizing I’ve never actually served these to other people before and wondering if I’m doing it right.

Do you serve the rubbery membrane part with the rib that was attached to the bone? I always eat around it, especially for smaller ribs where there’s almost no meat on the bottom side of the ride. I can’t remember how I’ve had it in restaurants. Should I keep that on or cut off before bringing over?

I have pictures to show what I’m talking about but now see you can’t upload pics to this subreddit.

[Product Question] Has anyone used The Clear Fortress?

I (38F) have had various types of skin crap my entire life. Spiro has the cystic chin acne under control, but it is so freaking annoying to still have regular ol’ acne at this age. Instagram ads have convinced me I have “biofilm acne”, which means my medications (clindamycin, works sometimes, use with benzoyl peroxide face wash) aren’t actually reaching the target?

I’ve tried reading into it, but there doesn’t seem to be a lot of information, which makes me skeptical. I can find explanations of biofilm, but most talk about its importance, and not its possible role in unfortunately also protecting acne bacteria. I found The Clear Fortress product with full explanation that seems to make sense, but I can’t find any independent reviews ANYWHERE. Even on Reddit!

Has anyone heard of or tried this product? What do you think about the “biofilm acne” concept. Truly a new way of figuring it out? Or Instagram slop.

Vent: husband brings home trigger foods…

Not too serious, but just frustrating….. I feel like Contrave helps me not overeat (full faster) and makes it easier to make decisions that keep me in a calorie deficit. However, there are still a few foods that are my weakness and so difficult to skip or eat just a few bites of. One of those is this smoked Gouda dip from our local grocery store, with nice crispy potato chips. My husband loves it too, and it’s often our go to treat.

I have had SUCH a good week, and he comes home with this chips and dip tonight, just because he was feeling like and we hadn’t had it in a while. I tried not having any. I tried just a few bites. And I’ve gone back to the fridge 3 times now to get more…. He’s not being rude or not thoughtful. He knows I’m watching what I eat but not to the point of “don’t bring things in the house”. He thought it be a nice surprise and fun.

I know it’s not the end of the world, and no where close to canceling out the deficit I have for the week. I try not to think of foods as good or bad, and everything is fine within moderation. But I just have no moderation with this dip!! Thank god I don’t know how to make restaurant level truffle fries with aioli at home….. haha
