[gourmet] outdoor winecap bed questions

Are these little things on this piece of straw bug eggs or are they the smallest pins I’ve ever seen? Also what are these little bugs running all around my winecap bed? Are they harmful? If they are, how can I get rid of them?

Stash stink

Hey everyone!

I’m in a legal state and I’m of legal age but my family who I’m currently living with is like reefer-madness-crazy-style-anti-weed. I have never been caught and I usually keep my stash safe and sound in a cabinet in my room. Today I brought home an OZ and put it all in the usual spot but my mom just called to ask me why there’s a weed smell. I’m kinda freaking the fuck out about this but I’m also curious, what’s your folks solutions to become completely smell proof fast? I’ve heard scent proof bags from Amazon are good but what’s something I could pick up from the store first thing tomorrow morning to totally stop the smell? Please help!

Outdoor growing with grain spawn [gourmet]

Hello! I am about to go ahead and launch my second attempt at growing wine caps outdoors.

My first attempt was started in a potato bag but unfortunately a rabbit ate through the side of the bag and ate all of my colonized grain. As far as I understand, the advantage of sawdust spawn over grain spawn is that it won't attract pests in this way. I have a shit ton of colonized grain ready to go but I'm curious what my next step should be:

  1. Should I just launch this straight into raised beds? (prepped with straw and poop and soil of course)

or

  1. Should I colonize straw in buckets first and then launch that into the beds?

Let me know what has worked for you. I have no problem letting these grains colonize some straw before launching but if that would stall growth or if it's unnecessary I will skip that.

Thanks in advance

Monotub advice

Im growing in a monotob and had an okay pin set. After the set one of my mushrooms grew very wide, both cap and stem, without growing upward much at all. the other pins have stayed very small and the wide one hasn't seen much growth in the past few days. Surface has water beads on it and the block isn't shrinking much so I'm not too worried about it being dry. Does it need more FAE?

RGB dies when connecting to Ngenuity

I just got an alloy rise keyboard and whenever I connect to Ngenuity to change the color of the lights some of my keys’ lights turn off and won’t turn back on until I close Ngenuity completely. How can I fix this?

Adderall IR Knee pain

I’ve been taking Adderall IR for 3 days. Never taken stimulants before this. Last night and this morning my knee hurts wicked bad. Is this from the adderall? I’ve seen some people talk about joint pain after long term use. Also worth mentioning I haven’t gotten much movement if at all these past few days of taking it. Work has been super heavy for me so I’ve just been sitting at my desk all day for the past few days

$1000 (ish) budget for work and school that I could potentially upgrade for gaming in the future

Hey folks, I'm looking to buy a pc because I'm getting tired of plugging my laptop into a monitor every time I work. I mainly do spreadsheets and photo editing for work so its not too hard on my computer but I would like to have the potential to upgrade in the future for gaming. If I'm being honest I'm a total noob; afaik pretty much everything is upgradable but I want to start with a solid base setup yk? I'm not sure what's worth spending more or spending less on now. I really don't care about the aesthetics, its gonna be under my desk. Not a huge fan of bright red/orange lights as I sometimes will wake up and think there's a fire if I see a red glow coming from under my desk (not a dealbreaker though). What's the best bang for my buck? Thanks in advance!!

Discoloration after misting

Am I cooked? I’m colorblind so I can’t say for sure but this looks kinda green after misting it last night. Tub dried out a bit while I was out of town so I gave it a firm mist. It’s not fuzzy or moldy looking so I don’t think it’s contam but I’d rather be safe than sorry. Please say it’s not trich!

First time adderall and caffeine

Hello, I just got prescribed adderall today (first time trying medication for my ADHD) and I'm very excited to try it out. That said, I had a cup of coffee a couple hours ago. Is it safe to try this out today despite the caffeine or should I wait until tomorrow?

Visible mycelium less than 24 hours after inoculation

I decided to try experimenting with my own grain spawn recipe yesterday and this morning I woke up to visible mycelium in my grain jars. I’m still new to this but this has never happened to me before, is this normal?? It’s obviously not much against the glass but there is some growing pretty strongly on the grains that I couldn’t photograph well

Jeffrey Markley arrested on DV charges

“According to the report, Markley’s wife told police that he became upset and said, “I’m the lion, from now on we eat when the lion eats,” before the argument escalated.”

Grain sterilization question

Hey everyone! I’m sterilizing grain today to start my first batch of mushrooms (oysters :P). I read that I should sterilize my grain jars in a PC at 15 PSI for 90 minutes. Is this really necessary? I’m going to do it just to be safe but is an hour not already more than enough for sterilization? I’ve canned pickles and jams before and so this amount of time seems pretty excessive. That said I do understand that jams and pickles are full of preservatives. Just curious about this

Is this Kevlar??

This old town Katahdin is listed for sale near me (kinda) for pretty cheap. This looks like Kevlar to me but google says that katahdins were only made of fiberglass. The outside of the boat is white if that helps. If it’s Kevlar I’m going to pick it up in a heartbeat
