I wish life was more simple

I'm glad that we got all the technology and convienence today, all the forms of media and entertainment, but I really wish that life was more simple like when I was a kid.

I'm not asking to be born in a rural village, but overall the athmosphere was better back then. Chatting with friends and doing simple stuff. Now everything has made me more stressed.

What are some stereotypes Americans often explain to foreigners?

In Europe we grew up with American hollywood movies and we always had this image that US is filled with skycrapers, busy people and rich. And when they have a family they move to the suburbs for quiet life (those halloween trick or treat moments at night were best!😭❤️)

When I traveled to US during the World Cup I was SHOCKED how empty lot of country can be! We drove only 1-2 hours in Pennslyvania and BOOM we are in some wild forest😅

Americans are way too nice..?

When I visited the US during World Cup, I was shocked friendly and polite Americans were! Coming from Norway everyone avoid small talk and kinda keep to themself.

Everyone greets and offers to help me even though they don't know me😭❤️ This one American couple who was cheering for my country invited us to have dinner with them! I never expect so much kindness in my life. Normally as a kid I had to wait in the living room when my friend was eating😭

Traveling in Europe everyone was so blunt to me but Americans I meet are nothing but super kind, totally opposite what media shows in my country, why?

Why are Americans so emotionally intelligent?

When I visited the US during World Cup, I was shocked friendly and polite Americans were! Coming from Norway everyone avoid small talk and kinda keep to themself.

Everyone greets and offers to help me even though they don't know me😭❤️ This one American couple who was cheering for my country in a match invited me to have dinner with them! I never expect so much kindness in my life. Normally as a kid I had to wait in the living room when my friend was eating😭

Traveling in Europe everyone was so blunt but Americans I meet somehow sense if something is bothering me, they always know how to help/cheer me up❤️ Why?

Why are Americans so good at business?

I look at videos of many young American guys hustling with their landscaping business already at 16-18! Making more than me😭 Where as most of us Europeans study in university 20s and hope to land a good job in a company.

It's not just people, you have tons of big companies like Google, Apple, Netflix. In Europe there are quite lot like this but nowhere near rich and known in the world.

We are much more laid back and prefer middle/simple class life (small apartment, vacations), where as big house in suburbs, family cars and investments like in America are not common here in Europe, why?

Why is American nature so diverse and beautiful compared to Europe?

When I visited the US, I was shocked how diverse the landscape and nature is in America! You have many national parks with tons of wilderness sight I can never get enough!❤️Giant trees, deserts, waterfalls, canyons and tropical paradise.

Meanwhile in Europe we mostly have similar looking forests, a bit of alps and Mediterranean beaches in the South with clear human shaped, why America preserves their nature so well?

Why is American food so good?

Growing up in Norway the meals my parents made were always so bland and simple. I visited the states during the World Cup and I was SHOCKED how diverse and good tasting the food was!😋 It's like tasting something forbidden and melts in your mouth. Even the fast food is like 5-star compared to a good restaurant in Europe.

We are diverse here in Europe but the food is not super diverse and you have to go South like France or Italy for good food, but mostly fine dining. American food is so tasty no matter where I eat, why?

Americans who dated/married to a European, what are some culture shocks?

I'm from Norway and visited the US with my friends for couple weeks during World Cup. What was shocking to me, the guys were a LOT more conservative than in my country. This one guy I met treated me like a princess even though we saw each other for like 9 days❤️😭

I'm used to splitting bill and straight forward kinda boring communication with my exes, meanwhile the Americans I met are so polite and friendly! He was ready to introduce me to his family even after I told him I was not staying for long.

What differs us is also how religious he is, I'm baptised (tradition in my family) but no one here practises Christianity.

Why are Americans so goal-driven compared to Europeans?

I work at a US based company here in Europe and I've got to see how different their mentality is for a few months so far!

My American colleagues tend to be very serious and have this "winner/hustle" mentality? They always work so fast and efficiently, even at lunch break they talk about investing, own a nice house, how to improve things. They taught me so much and honestly I'm so grateful to work with them😭❤️

Meanwhile we Europeans mostly talk about casual stuff like family or weekend plans. We tend to be more laid back. Travel somewhere here and there, settle for a simple life, why?

Why are Americans so hard working compared to Europeans?

My company was bought out by a US tech giant recently and we got many new employees from overseas. Frankly after observing how they work, I was shocked how fast and efficient my American co-workers are at working!

They communicate so smoothly and bring up a ton of new things that I don't even know about😭 meanwhile my European co-workers talk much more non-sense and relax whenever they can.

Those who tried Skitarii for a while now, is it worth it?

Basically I'm HUGE fan of Admech and I love the cyber aesthetic they are using. When I heard they added Skitarii class to Darktide I was so happy!❤️ I watched some videos so far of gameplay and builds, it's so fun and interesting. You can play them like support which I like.

Please tell me your opinion about it. For 12€ it's lot for me in low income country, convince me if I can decide to buy it😭❤️
