Would LoR players be interested in a new card game inspired by LoR’s core gameplay ?

Hi everyone,

I’m a French indie game developer and game designer and I used to play Legends of Runeterra a lot a few years ago.

I was honestly really sad when Riot announced that the PvP side of the game would no longer be the focus. I had just reached Master with Morgana / Elder Dragon (I love that deck !) and even though I never planned to become a competitive player, the news still hit me pretty hard.

Since then, I’ve been missing the kind of gameplay LoR offered: the back-and-forth turns, the interaction, the stack, the attack and defense rhythm, the feeling that both players are constantly involved and the fact that card games can be tactical without becoming overly slow.

I also tried looking for similar games. I was excited when I heard about ChronoCCG but I personally ended up disappointed by the experience. That made me wonder: what if someone tried to build a new card game inspired by what made LoR great, but with its own universe, original mechanics and a fairer business model ?

So I started designing one.

The idea would not be to make a clone of LoR but to keep the kind of core gameplay that many of us loved: interactive turns, meaningful combat decisions, spell-speed interaction, and tactical deckbuilding. On top of that, I’m exploring new systems, new keywords, new factions and mechanics that would give the game its own identity.

I’m also thinking a lot about the business model. Ideally, I’d like something much more player-friendly than the usual CCG economy: no predatory booster system, no feeling that you have to spend a fortune just to play different decks and possibly a premium or fixed-expansion model instead.

I’m now close to making a small prototype to test the core mechanics and see whether the ideas actually work in practice.

So I wanted to ask the LoR community directly:

Would you be interested in a new digital card game inspired by LoR’s core gameplay, but with original mechanics, a new universe, and a fairer business model ? What would such a game absolutely need to keep from LoR ? And just as importantly, what should it avoid ?

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4758530/Space_PiouPiou/

We made a space shooter where a cute canary fights an army of alien cats

This is the first gameplay trailer for Space Piou Piou, our first Steam game !

You play as a cute space canary fighting alien cats, collecting upgrades and slowly turning from prey into predator.

The Steam page is now live and wishlists would help us a lot:

Thank you very much !

We would also love to know if the trailer makes the concept clear enough.
