Ricing Windows 11 looks so beautiful with the Komorebi DE

Ricing Windows 11 looks so beautiful with the Komorebi DE. WinHawk is amazing too and I love the aero look especially since Windows has working hardware mature compositor while Wayland catches up. What are some of your themes and customization for Windows? The link is here if anyone wants to play with it?

Can I run LLMs and cuda (pytorch) with kvm?

I am considering leaving Windows. As of right now I have an Nvidia 5080 (wish I could afford a rtx 6000pro) with srv-io enabled in my bios.

I use wsl right now for pytorch and cuda stuff with hyper-v for my various unrelated virtual machines.

I need specific versions of python and cuda. On Windows this is not a problem with wsl I can set different containers with different versions.

My question is without a pro series card can I use kvm for different OS versions and frameworks separate from my host?

You can't call yourself an IT professional if you don't prefer/run Linux

Sorry old Boomer mcse mouse click engineer Windows jockeys. If you run Windows you are not one of us. You don't know computer science nor have any technical background to solve real world business IT problems.

Linux is the best and only desktop OS for anyone who is into technology. Prove me wrong?

How Fedora Broke Linux

How Linux fanatics hired a hitman to murder a Redhat Employee for changing the way Linux computers boot. Then we wonder why people aren't jumping on the Linux bandwagon?

9 years later and realtek almost Linux ready

For those on Windows they got to use their hardware from day 1. This is just like the 50xx series Nvidia cards where you have to wait 2 years and have 1/2 the gpus life gone before you could game and use your own hardware. With this you had no Bluetooth and wifi for 9 years?!

Realtek rtl8723bs now entering beta staging area 🤞

Not a single remote job listed. WTF

This is an IT job and can be 💯 be done remotely. There is no reason to drive and go sit in an office other than to be watched and controlled. One was hybrid and one didn't say remote or hybrid but is probably 5 days a week as that is what people do etc. wHF is dead! A failed experiment. Ok done venting

How to get a remote job (please mod this up so it's visible for seekers)

This subreddit is getting 5 to 10 posts a day on finding a remotework job from folks with no experience, skills, or explanation of what he/she can do for the employer. Let me sum this up to you all!

  1. Go get experience first. You need a thing called a resume. For a resume you need a portfolio of companies doing the same job posted. You are asking HR to give a stranger a chance with someone who has never done the role. That won't sell
  2. Get the education first. If you an associates in English and have experience as a chef at Chillis do not expect to get a senior remote AI dev ops role. You can use a computer to learn coding, or get a certification (like PMP, AWS certified solutions engineer, Azure Devops etc). Or go back to University. Go code on your own or do things in your current role like project management to pad your resume.
  3. Go get experience working onsite 5 days a week in said field you want to work in. Duh. Put that on your resume after 3 years. You will have less competition in these roles before you can have better leveredge.
  4. Take temp roles where the employer can fire you in a heartbeat and can afford to take a risk. Hrinig unsupervised remote work is a HUGE risk. Reduce the risk and hR may even look the other way for a simple project. This is how I got into tech before COVID to earn full time roles.
  5. It is a job not a vacation or lotto ticket?! I see soo many I will be traveling in the carribean for 3 months and wait a temp remote job on a beach ... etc. Stop being so selfish! No one cares about your dog walking. No one cares about your baby watching. No one cares about your ADHD spectrum anxiety. Seriously no one cares. Employers do not care if you live or die.

They need their work done as fast and as cheap as possible and want the best candidate to do that with the least hassle.

  1. Reddit is not a job posting site. Go ask someone in a subreddit in the field you want to work in?

Man, sorry for the vent but come on folks. The reason these jobs do not pay minimium wage and have perks is because there is a short supply of people capable of performing those roles. You need to be able to do them and sell yourself to an employer.

In the real world it takes years of hard work, educaiton, networking, and taking jobs which suck to pad your resume. Learn to be awesome and how things work. This is not hard to do.

Sick of looking for remote job posts

It's so silly to see people with no experience or skills asking how to do senior level IT/Project Management/start a business here.

Until last year I never saw these. I wonder if the abundant of these posts are because RTO is so popular now compared to 2023

Horrible ergonomics and foot support

My feet won't sit up straight and are twisted due to the angle and the lack of size with peddles. The toe to heel is not flat and requires twisting my ankle. I am only size 11?!

I can't be the only one who has experienced this?! I will have to get rid of this 50k Outback because of this if I can't find a solution. I have the top Touring XT trim and tried every seat and thigh extension out there.

Has anyone else experienced or has a solution? My 50k just depreciated to 35k so I really don't want to lose 15k to trade it in 😞

I noticed something odd?

It seems slower and not as engaging. The steering feels unlike Mazda and is light. The sound is glitchy and at low rpm after a start the transmission is doing weird things in a spasm or 2.

Is this a difference in the trims? Is the meridian tuned differently? Or is this my imagination. It is quieter but the pickup and noise and heavy steering all are reduced. it feels more like a cx5 or Honda Accord than a fun SUV :-(

Most employers only care if you are "On time" regardless of the quality of the job.

I work as a tech in healthcare and I have reached an age that I can say "College kids" unironically. Since my beginnings as a worker I saw that (regardless of age, experiences, gender, personnality or responsability) someone who arrives 1 hour before normal working-hours can drink coffee and do nothing before lunch and will leave before the normal end of shift woth no trouble. People assume that the person is a good worker and find excuses for their incompetence.

If you arrive later than the normal working-hours, Let's say 1 hour later. Even if you work a full normal shift, not loosing time on the job, with a high stardard of quality, you will still be identified as a Lazy worker.
