New to Shatterpoint

Hi everyone,

I preordered the Shatterpoint core set and picked up a few of the first expansion boxes. Unfortunately, they all ended up buried in my closet and stayed there until recently.

I've finally decided to give the game a try! The rules seem quite convoluted, and I haven't found that many podcasts or other resources covering the game, so I'd love to hear your thoughts:

  1. What's the current state of the game? I know the release schedule has changed, but how do you feel about the balance updates and the overall meta? Have the updates made a meaningful difference, or are they mostly errata and clarifications?
  2. Can you buy updated physical unit cards anywhere? The updated card document is quite long, and it looks like quite a few of the early units have changed.
  3. Does it work as a beer-and-pretzels game? Or, in my case, soda-and-pretzels, since I'll be playing with my kid! We've already played AoS Spearhead and One Page Rules together, so we're not completely new to miniature games. The rulebook seems quite lengthy and convoluted in places, especially LOS and cover. There's also a lot of text on the unit cards—six units means around 24 abilities to keep track of.
  4. How much replayability would I get out of eight squads? Would that give us enough variety to keep things interesting for a while?
  5. Is the terrain from the core set enough for enjoyable games? If not, which terrain expansion would you recommend?
  6. Are there any good resources explaining LOS and cover in detail? Ideally with diagrams or practical examples, especially for the trickier situations.

Thanks in advance!

Polish music video

Hey, I’m looking for a Polish music video that I watched around 2018/2019.

It was a pop song, and the video was kind of funny. A guy and a girl go on a trip in a camper/van to a lake and have some funny adventures along the way. The guy was the main singer, but I think the girl was featured on vocals in this song.

WTA/VTM 5ed podcasts?

I'm a huge fan of Mage: the Podcast. I've spent countless hours listening to and learning about the lore and concepts behind this amazing game. The host has an incredible depth of knowledge, tons of interesting ideas, and fantastic guests — sometimes not directly connected to Mage itself, but always adjacent to the themes and atmosphere of the setting.

I was wondering: do you know any similar podcasts focused on Werewolf: the Apocalypse or Vampire: the Masquerade (either 5e or earlier editions)?

Bonus round: any genuinely great actual plays for those systems? Preferably ones with strong storytelling, lore awareness, and good audio quality rather than pure comedy/chaos.

Hello,

I recently got into OPR and noticed the Broken Truth box—luckily, I managed to back it just in time. The Gamefound campaign seems to have done really well, but my Google-fu has failed me so far. I was wondering if there’s been any news about future campaigns or similar starter sets?

Hello fellow OPR fans,

For the last few years, I've been collecting Age of Sigmar armies. I stopped playing 3 years ago due to a lack of time, but recently, I started playing Spearhead with my 12-year-old son. We're having a great time, but it feels like some of the warbands are quite unbalanced.

My son would like to play a bigger/full game, but my gut feeling tells me that we would both be overwhelmed by the current AoS ruleset. That's why I started looking for an alternative, and it seems that Age of Fantasy might scratch that itch.

I have a few beginner questions:

  1. How does the actual gameplay feel compared to AoS?
  2. How much time does a typical 1500-point game take?
  3. Is it possible to convert AoS General's Handbook missions to AoF?
  4. What’s the ideal mix of large and small terrain pieces to keep the board balanced?
  5. Is there an army to use Sylvaneth models?
  6. Are there any good YouTube channels with battle reports for AoF?
  7. Do you have any tips for newbies starting their journey?

Pic for attention! 😉

Thanks in advance for your help!
