What things to look out for before getting samarpit to a guru for lifetime. I understand there are many fascets like feeling a connect, their imact on your life, etc but are there any points, which now some sahebji's are doing / some things that's already been happening and one should take care before proceeding to being samarpit to that sahebji?

I don't mean to ask this question in a negative way. Just genuinely want to know, what's happening in reality vs all the ideal stuff we read about sahebji's online, and want to move ahead with caution.
