thoughts on how it feels having a second kid? any mom guilt??

hi!! i’m a SAHM to my beautiful 8 month old baby boy. my husband and I have talked about maybe trying for another kid when he is around a year, maybe a year 1/2 old. (we’re planning a big move soon so we’ll see haha).

i’m sharing this here so i can possibly get some input or any thoughts & hear (or i guess read) other peoples stories. is there mom guilt? i’m so scared that my first baby will feel left out when tending to the other one. also, i guess i’m wondering how does one handle a toddler alone at home with a newborn, especially if having a c section?? (context: i had a c section with my first due to him being breech, and i’m planning for a VBAC but it may not be successful)..

let me know your stories!! lol.

eating in front of 8m old

Is there a point where I should stop eating my own food in front of my 8 month old? I’m a SAHM so for breakfast & lunch it’s usually just the two of us. I have a large appetite and like eating multiple small meals than just 3 large meals + snacking A LOT! Also, LO also doesn’t eat solid lunch yet, just a bit of breakfast and dinner.

Anyways, normally i’ll sit on the floor with him and eat while he’s playing, or I’ll sit on the couch and he can just independently play. Or if I just want a cookie or a few crackers i’ll just grab them while carrying him. However lately he’s been STARING at me and paying much more attention when I eat. He doesn’t fuss or anything but he kind of looks sad! Should I stop eating/snacking in front of him when he has nothing to eat as well?? In case it wasn’t obvious i’m a FTM and never thought about this specific situation haha. We have teether melts that I give him while prepping dinner but I don’t want to give him too many in a day, otherwise I would give him one while I snack.

NOTE: I am not looking to incorporate lunch meals for him yet, he is fine on only having solids for breakfast & dinner. But I think around 9 1/2 - 10 months I will start.

I need book recommendations!

Basically what the title says! I just started getting into reading and looking for recommendations. I’m into the YA/Adult fantasy books so far, and even smut is totally acceptable! Like magic, Faes, etc etc!!

* For example on my list so far I have the Lightlark series, ACOTAR, The Folk of the Air, and The Stolen Heir spin off!!

Books into movies??

I’m currently reading Lightlark, despite its negative reviews, and I can’t help but wonder what it would be like as a movie?? I just recently started getting into reading after my little one goes to bed, and it’s been such a fun journey!! I’m always stuck wondering how some books could be as films.

Are there any books you’d want to see as a movie or show?

What do I do with my time??

I’m a SAHM to one sweet baby. He’s currently 8 1/2 months old. What are some things we are doing as SAHMS during the day?? Any cleaning that needs to be done is usually done by 10-11am, and dinner for my husband doesn’t really start till about 4:30pm.

I’m going a little crazy doing the same things, we don’t go to the parks around here as much as I would like to since there’s been quite a bit of sketchy things going on there. Little one doesn’t like being in the carseat for long, so beach trips or other farther away activities are rare. I can only do so much shopping, or window shopping (lol). My friends are great but they all work so it’s not always easy setting up a hangout.

Let me know some hobbies you can easily do with a baby who isn’t crawling yet!! 🤣🩷
