What plane that you’ve never flown pleasantly surprised you?

I spend the majority of my time playing between 2.3 and 5.7, I’ll play early jets every now and then, but I’ve never played pre-war props in sim before.

I tried out the P-36 today and it was an absolute blast to fly. What planes have surprised you?

Busted joystick or does my pilot need to hit the gym more?

I play on Xbox X and use the Thrustmaster HOTAS w/pedals for my controls. I’ve had the HOTAS for about 1.5 years and it was fine for the first 12 months. Then a few months ago the pitch axis became unstable in the pitch axis, making it increasingly difficult to line up shots, fly close to the ground and even take off on some planes.

I’ve messed with all the settings and sensitivities in the controls menu and have achieve only temporary success before the isssues return (yes I’m saving the settings when I adjust them).

Here’s a clip of my climbing, holding the stick at a constant deflection, note the elevator flutter and the virtual stick moving.

OSAR-D(isappointment)

Picked up this OSAR-D in a trade for a rifle scope. I’ve always like the way it looked in pictures, but when I got my hands on it I was underwhelmed. I always thought I’d like a cyclops date window, but I’m not a fan since I have great eyesight (thanks US taxpayers).

It maybe because I have my anthracite GSAR with hold sentimental value as it was the watch I wore during my last assignment.

I’m gonna give it a fair shake, but I’ll probably sell it soon. Who knows?

Pressure pad option

I wish they would add an option for a pressure pad setting in the game. In concept it would activate the light only when you aim and would be optional like single vs full tube reloads for shotguns. I think it would be a small QOL improvement for those who get annoyed by having to constantly click the WML on and off.

Also, add IR floods to IR LAMS.

ISO a Kinetic 2 Pilot SN: 073

Years ago I had a DLC K2 Pilot that I wore every day while I was working as an Operations Officer. I took it to South Korea in 2020 and it was an indispensable tool for me. I was able to track three time zones instantly which was important as I was coordinating movement with other units in varying locations around the globe.

I sold it a few months after I got back because I wasn’t sentimental about it then, but now that I’m out it’s a piece that I really regret letting go of.

I know it’s a shot in the dark, but if the current owner happens to see this and is willing to let go of it, hit me up.

I usually don’t play with SMGs because, well rifles are better. But sometimes I do because MP5’s are cool. Notice the light splash on the left hand, never had this happen before the last DLC. It’s a problem in actual dark areas.
