Is It Normal for HR to Call at 11 PM?

I was already preparing to sleep when HR suddenly asked for a quick call for phone interview and my brain was already in “sleep mode” I understand that sometimes things can be urgent, but is it normal for HR to contact employees this late at night? Would it be okay to politely ask to have the call during working hours?

For fellow retakers/passers, what advice can you give? What did you do differently the second time, and what study methods or reviewers helped you the most?
I’d really appreciate any tips. Any changes sa TOS huhuhu , Thank you po

What’s the most cringe or unnecessary workplace issue you’ve encountered in Work?

Mine was honestly so ridiculous. I was already going home when someone approached me and said there were papers that needed to be reimbursed .I politely declined and told her that maybe she could give them to me the tomorrow, since I was already about to leave. She apparently took that as me being “picky with my work” and immediately told the admin.
Then my boss scolded me about it. Like… I wasn’t refusing to do the work. I was literally just asking her to give it to me the next morning because my workday was already over.

CALLING OUT THE BARANGAY

We pay our taxes, yet when an emergency happens and a child needs immediate medical attention, why does the ambulance have to be prioritized for something else
A child with dengue and nosebleeding needs urgent care and not delays, excuses, or arguments about fuel or expenses. Public services exist to serve the community, especially during emergencies.

We hope the concerned barangay officials can explain what happened and take accountability. Every second matters when a child’s life is at risk. 🙏

Jobhunting

Hi everyone! I’m currently looking for a job and hoping someone here might be able to refer me or point me in the right direction.

I’m a Psychology graduate with experience in admin and HR-related work, and I’m currently looking for roles like HR Assistant, Admin Assistant, Recruitment/Talent Acquisition, or similar positions.

Preferably around Taguig, BGC, Makati, or nearby areas, and hopefully a day shift.

If you know of any openings in your company or have any leads, I’d really appreciate it. Thank you so much!
🥺

Need Advice?

Hello everyone , A company recently reached out to me for a Project Coordinator position. To be honest, I’m really interested cause new skills and experience I will encounter, but I’m also hesitant because my work experience is mostly as an Administrative Clerk.

I’ve been reflecting on whether I should pursue it. The role supports US and European clients, so I’m worried that I might not have the right experience or if the learning curve will be too steep.

For anyone here who started as a Project Coordinator without direct experience, how was the transition? Were your administrative skills transferable? What were the biggest challenges, and do you think it’s a role that someone can learn on the job?

I’d really appreciate any advice or experiences. Thanks!

Job Hunting Is Mentally Draining

Hi everyone. I just wanted to vent and ask for some advice.

I’ve been job hunting for four months now. I’ve revised my resume multiple times and attended countless interviews. I’ve reached several final interviews, but I still haven’t received a job offer.

I’m starting to feel pressured and hopeless. What’s even harder is when companies politely say they’ll get back to you, only to ghost you afterward. It can be really discouraging.

I’m honestly exhausted, but I’m trying not to give up. If anyone has gone through something similar and eventually found a job, I’d really appreciate hearing your experience or any advice you can share. Thank you.

Why is leaving work on time seen as a bad thing?

Hello everyone,

I got triggered by a Facebook post about people who leave work on time, so I thought I’d share an experience from my previous government job. I’m honestly curious if anyone else has gone through something similar because, to this day, I still don’t understand the mindset behind it.I’m the type of employee who always comes in early. There were even days when I arrived before the office gate was even opened. I believe time is valuable, so I make it a point to be punctual.
Our office had a flexible work schedule, so if I arrived around 6:00 AM, I was allowed to leave at 4:00 PM. Since I was commuting from Quezon City to Manila, I preferred starting early to avoid the heavy traffic after work.I also finished my tasks ahead of deadlines. I like completing my work early so I don’t leave anything pending and prepare another new task tomorrow. By the end of the day, once all my responsibilities were done, I would politely let my boss and coworkers know that I was heading home.
They never said anything negative to my face. They would even tell me, “Ingat,” so I thought everything was fine.Later, I found out from our admin that some of my coworkers had been complaining about me behind my back. The worst part was that my boss agreed with them. They said I wasn’t a “team player” because I always left work on time.As time went by, things only got worse. I started noticing that my work was being undermined, and it felt like some people were deliberately trying to make me look incompetent. Eventually, my boss wanted me to be recalled, and that was the point where I decided to resign. I realized I could no longer work in an environment where office politics mattered more than performance and professionalism. That honestly surprised me. How does leaving on time make someone a bad teammate when I consistently arrive early, complete my work before deadlines, and fulfill all of my responsibilities? Meanwhile, some of the same people who criticized me were frequently late to work and regularly earned overtime. Is there really a workplace culture where you’re expected to stay in the office even after you’ve finished everything, just to look dedicated?

For me, performance should be measured by the quality and timeliness of your work, not by how long you stay at your desk.

Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Looking for an HR or Administrative Opportunity (Philippines)

Hi everyone!
I’m currently looking for a new opportunity after being unemployed for the past four months. I have experience as an Administrative Clerk in a government office, where I handled administrative support, document processing, records management, and other office tasks.
I’m now hoping to transition into Human Resources, particularly in Recruitment or Talent Acquisition. Although my professional background is in administration, I have a BS in Psychology and I’m eager to learn and grow in the HR field.
The job search has been challenging, but I’m staying hopeful and continuing to apply. If anyone knows of companies hiring entry-level HR professionals or administrative roles with opportunities to grow into HR, I would truly appreciate any leads or referrals.
I’m open to roles around Metro Manila or nearby areas.
Thank you so much, and I hope everyone who’s job hunting finds the opportunity they’re looking for too.

Feeling hopeless after 4 months of job hunting. Any advice?

Hi everyone,I don’t usually post, but I feel like I need to let this out. It’s been four months since I resigned from my government job, and despite applying almost every day, I still haven’t found a new opportunity. I’m starting to feel hopeless.I worked as an Administrative Clerk, and my goal was to stay long enough to become a regular employee. Sadly, that dream ended because of a very toxic work environment. My supervisor wanted me gone. What hurt the most was finding out from our admin that there were already plans to terminate me behind my back. She didn’t even want me to know. I was doing my best every day, but it felt like she only saw my mistakes and never my effort.I wasn’t a perfect employee. I made mistakes, especially during my first day at work while I was still adjusting. But what hurt me was that even my evaluation was sent to my agency without anyone talking to me first or giving me a chance to improve. I was never properly informed or coached. Instead, I felt judged before I even had the opportunity to grow. There was also a lot of office gossip, which made the workplace even more difficult. Over time, I became emotionally exhausted, burned out, and my mental health started to decline. Resigning wasn’t what I wanted, but it felt like the only choice I had left. Now I’m trying to rebuild my career. My experience is mostly in administrative work, but I want to transition into Human Resources, especially recruitment or talent acquisition. I’ve been applying, attending interviews, and trying to learn as much as I can, but the rejections are starting to take a toll on me.Some days I question whether I made the right decision by leaving. But deep down, I also know that staying in an environment that was affecting my mental health wasn’t sustainable.Has anyone here successfully transitioned from an administrative role into HR? How did you do it? And if you’ve been unemployed for months, what kept you motivated?I’d really appreciate any advice, encouragement, or even your own stories. Right now, I just need a little hope that things will eventually get better.

Thank you for reading.
