Clamming around cline spit

Going to be visiting the area near cline spit today through Thursday. Was going to do some crabbing but it seems crabbing is closed is only open Thursday-Monday so I plan to go clamming instead! Never been clamming before and it looks like this area has mostly butter and manilla clams. Is it worth bringing my clam gun or would a metal rake tool or a shovel be more useful here? Also is cline spot a good area to go for clamming or are there other spots to check out?
It looks like today the biotoxin levels are high, but I’m hoping that gets better tomorrow or Wednesday

Crabbing spots near port Angeles?

I live in SW Washington but I’ll be up visiting port Angeles this week! I just moved to the PNW a few months ago so crabbing is quite new to me. What are some good public (ideally free) docks or piers in the area to go crabbing? I have a big metal trap, not snares or those light folding ones so a pier or place I can drop the trap would be ideal. I’ll be staying quite near blue ribbon airport (right at the mouth of McDonald creek) so the closer to where I’m staying the better! Thank you!

Good crabbing spots?

I just recently moved to the Portland area from out of state so crabbing is totally new to me! Last weekend I bought a metal crab trap and went crabbing at garibaldi pier. I only caught one tiny crab and everyone else crabbing that day didn’t get any keepers either.

I have my shellfish license and am willing to go anywhere from around Lincoln city up into Washington. I don’t have my Washington shellfish license yet but I am a Washington state resident so I can get it if it’s worth it! I was using chicken as bait but open to recommendations for other baits that work better as well.

Also want to try to find some coastal chanterelles while I’m visiting the coast, but I know people are a bit more secretive about that lol. Any advice is welcome though!

So sick of unicorn hunters ignoring the fact that I’m a lesbian on dating apps 🙃

Of course there is nothing on her profile indicating that she has a boyfriend. However my profile explicitly states I’m a lesbian and I also put in another section that I am NOT interested in getting with anyone’s man.

We were having a normal convo and then she throws this out there. It happens pretty often and I’m sooo tired of it. I know there’s not much that can be done, I just wanted to vent about it.

Also happy pride month!! 💖

Do I need a mountain bike for steep hills even if they’re paved?

I’m looking for a good entry level bike that I can ride in the roads and paved trails around my house. I just moved to SW Washington state from Florida and the hills here are something else!

I bought a $50 huffy bike off marketplace but it does not handle the hills at all. I tried going uphill and shifting gears and it made a grinding noise and the pedals locked up on me. It was also an old bike that has been sitting for a while so that probably contributed to its issues. I want to find a bike that can actually get up some of the steeper hills in the neighborhood.

Do I need a mountain bike for this or would a hybrid/commuter bike work? Are there any specific brands I should keep an eye out for on marketplace? I’m a 5’5 woman so it’s also hard to figure out if a bike will fit me. Do I just ask the seller how tall the previous rider was or is there a better way to judge if it’s the right size?

Clearly I don’t know very much about bikes, but with the gorgeous weather and nature, I would really like to start biking again. Mainly it would be for paved roads and paved nature trails, but it would be nice if it could handle some off-roading. I’ve been keeping an eye on marketplace but I also plan to go to a local used bike store tomorrow that’s supposed to have pretty good prices and would like to have an idea of what I should look for.
