Replacement Windows

My wife and I just recently bought a house and almost all of the windows are Universal Windows “Unishield” line. I am pretty handy and my uncle is a carpenter. Is there anyway chance Universal Windows will sell me just 3 more replacement windows or am I SOL about making these windows match? I am not paying $1400 a window. (That’s the lowest quote I’ve gotten) Just want to see if there’s any chance I could buy replacement windows from them before I get into the weeds of finding color matched replacement windows from other wholesalers.

G300 on a FR700 Tiller

Got a G300 that’s getting gas into the oil. Did some research and found that a carb letting too much fuel in could cause this. Swapped the carb and it’s still letting gas mix with the oil. In hindsight this sounds way more like a piston ring issue. I haven’t done a compression test but if it comes back bad, can anyone point me in the direction of a rebuild kit? Is it worth rebuilding or should I try and find another motor to slap in it? Any advice would be great thanks!

108 Year old House

My wife and I just bought a house in the middle of a city. At first I believed this was some sort of city storm drain access. We did some yard work and had 811 come out and they didn’t mark any lines going to or from it. After pulling the cover off of it it seems to just be a brick cistern possibly? 2 of the gutters had old ABS/clay piping plumbed to it. My question is after plumbing the gutters to the new city storm drain access with schedule 40 PVC. My question is what do you do with these old cisterns? How do I confirm it’s a cistern and not something else? Could it be something else? Any help would be appreciated thanks!

Head Gasket

I don’t know if anyone here watches South Main Auto on YouTube but he just saw his first head gasket failure on a 2020 CRV with the 1.5L turbo. I wonder if/when Honda will actually address this issue. Anybody out there dealer techs that see these failures more often? What percentage of failure triggers manufactures to issue a recall. This seems crazy ridiculous.

2019 Rogue no crank/start

Just seeing if anyone else has encounter this issue.

Intermittent no crank/no start issue

A friend of mine has this issue at least once a week for the past month. His remote start won’t work he will then go out press that start button nothing will happen and then 2-5 minutes later the car will randomly start up. It’s been so intermittent and it has been running fine with no engine lights or battery light coming on. I am pretty handy and pretty good at finding other threads regarding niche issues but I’m at a loss especially since it’s so intermittent. Any help would be appreciated whether it’s suggestion to help diag the issue or fixes people have done that fixes the issue.

He has a brand new alternator that was replaced last year.

New remote battery

No lights on the dash or warning messages.

Booster Fans scam or useful?

Older home with 6” supply to upstairs. First time homeowners with 5 and a half month old. All bedrooms and full bath on second floor. AC set to 68 and it is consistently 8-10 degrees warmer upstairs. Initially the flippers installed flexible ducting with a bunch of kinks and a long run. I shortened the run and made it hard ducting. That has gotten the temp down to a 6-8 degree difference. I’m wondering if putting a 400cfm 6” booster fan on the upstairs supply line would make a huge difference. The house has old style large registers as well in each room. I’m getting almost no flow out of the 2 farthest vents and the other 2 get much less flow than downstairs. If this is what’s expected and booster fans are a scam I’m ready to go buy a window unit that’s now issue for me. Just would like to avoid it because of the cost to run and it being in the way. Any help would be appreciated. I’d be more than happy to share pictures if that would help as well!

Central Ohio

Is it possible that anyone in the central Ohio area is selling a smaller pick up for less than $1000? If anyone has any suggestions that’d be great! I am pretty new to looking for a car to do a specific job that I can putt around town and go pickup mulch and stone and other building materials for home projects. Borrowing families trucks is pretty annoying and I hate relying on others all the time as I feel like I’m taking advantage of them. I was always told if I have to ask to borrow something more than three times I just need to buy one myself. Never purchased from an auction before so I may look into that. Again any tipes would be fantastic thanks! Also if this isn’t the right sub please delete this and send me in the right direction thanks!
