Got screwed on a cheap wideband from eBay that I didn’t mean to order. Safe to use?

So, that’ll teach me to not look closely at eBay listings.

I was trying to order an AEM 30-4110, and I got suckered by this listing for a “Virego” piece of bootleg fuckery because I wasn’t paying attention.

Has anyone actually used these things? How fucked am I if I try to use this to tune a DSM on ECMLink? I’d rather not be out $100.

First gen Ram/last gen d-series with a slant six: enough for what I need?

Hey, so I’m part of a group of people who helps folks in my community get out of bad living situations. We have a compact pickup right now and we’re looking at upgrading to a full size longbed. We’re based in Los Angeles

I’m looking at a 1985 Ram/D150 with a slant six and a torqueflite. All stock, well maintained. We won’t be towing anything, but often we’ll have the bed fully loaded with clothes, furniture, household belongings, etc.

The truck is a regular cab long bed with 126k that was a fleet truck for a local school district.

Often we have to climb a 5,000 foot pass, whether it be on I-5 going up to the Central Valley from LA, or on I-15 going to Vegas or Utah. Our compact pickup does it just fine with a four cylinder and a Weber with a manual trans.

Do we think the slant six full size can do it reliably? I’m not concerned with whether it’ll do it slowly, I’m concerned with whether or not it’ll break the truck. I’d love to hear from someone who’s had one of these trucks and driven them in similar terrain

So, I’m minding my own business on the platform, at metro center waiting for my second train. Some douchebag who I hadn’t interacted with in any way yells “are you a man? You look like a man, you got man arms, you’re built like a man.”

I’m a trans woman wearing nothing more or less than any cis woman would wear into a white collar job like mine.

As always, the platform was crawling with security theater goons. Four security guards, two green-shirted “ambassadors,” all no farther from that guy than I was. None of them told him to be quiet, to stop being hateful, to leave…nothing.

And see, this is why I don’t like our tax dollars being wasted on security theater. The very same people who harass people over $1.75 cannot be bothered to do anything about shit like this. And in a way it’s worse, because if I give this guy an earful or kick his ass, who’s to say these goons don’t go after me rather than him? If they weren’t there, I could at least do that and disappear into the ether.

I picked up this Ashton Electronics model 5050. Google is less than useless for any info. Does anyone know anything at all about this unit, the manufacturer, or this style of turntable?

No, I don’t plan on telling the subreddit where I’ll be working, or what my budget for housing is. I’m definitely not moving here to work for a tech company or defense contractor.

I want to live in a dense, walkable area, but I also want it to be completely devoid of poor people, the mentally ill, and any Black or brown person who doesn’t make Wayne Brady look like Huey Newton. I mean, I didn’t say that, but that’s what I really mean when I say I’m concerned about safety.

I’ll check the replies in the morning. If you’ll excuse me, I’m going to catch a Waymo to the Abbey tonight, where I’ll leave my purse unzipped and loosely hanging off my shoulder, and leave my drink unattended. After all, it’s totally safe: I’m surrounded by people who conform to an aesthetic that makes me feel comfortable.

I definitely wouldn’t have gotten in Ted Bundy’s Volkswagen if i were born in 1950 instead of 2000. Why do you ask?
