(EU) Gen3 Owners, good alternator upgrade ?

Hi !

I'm thinking of acquiring a Jimny for a month long adventure, and I'm looking for a DC/DC charger in addition to a solar panel (this one) (already picked the power bank, Aferiy P280).

It draws up to 45Amps. From my findings, a gen3 Jimny alternator outputs 75 Amps maximum (is this correct ?). After checking the manual it looks like with every lights on, without even counting the radio or other stuff, there might be too little headroom, too close to 75Amps, and I'm afraid of over stressing it.

Do you guys know of/have done an easy upgrade to the stock alternator ?

Thank you !

Do yourself a favor, try the Wonderburg Demo ! It's a blast on the Deck.

It's a perfect game for it ! I just found out about the demo, gave it a try with zero expectation, and it's a blast. Looks great, the gameplay loop is addictive. Performance wise, it runs great, just a few frame drops when the screen gets really busy, but I'm sure they'll optimize further.

Prime Go+ and Engine 5.01, really unstable ?

Hi !

After getting the Omnis Duo, I wanted to try out the Prime Go+, to be able to save cues and beatgrid info for Apple Music tracks, and compare both units. First impression was great with the Prime Go, but...

After playing for a couple of hours, I'm noticing a lot of instability.

  • Scrolling through menus on the left to check Playlists, Genres etc is choppy, there's a slight freeze if I scroll too fast
  • Apple Music sometimes does not want to load a track for some reason, then it works randomly if I try again
  • I just had a complete reboot out of nowhere in the middle of a set

Now the Omnis lacks some features compared to the Prime, but I've had zero instability with it.

Is 5.0.1 causing problems for others ? Are those common issues on the Prime Go+ in general ? After reading so much praise about it, this is quite a cold shower.

Workaround for Apple Music BPM on Omnis Duo

Frustrated with the lack of BPM and grid analysis saving locally for Apple Music tracks, I found a partial workaround.

If you rename a track in your Apple Music playlist on the desktop app, the name changes on the Omnis Duo as well.

I used this to add BPM at the beginning of each track if I'm planning to play a playlist.

Just thought I should share to make it less frustrating for others too :p

Quick question about the Prime Go+ and streaming services

Hi !

I just got an Omnis Duo, and realized that you can't save CUE/Beat Grids or other analyzed info for Apple Music tracks from Rekordbox to the Omnis, unless you use a paid subscription fee for Cloud Library Sync even when using your own Google Drive (wtf?). You can't even sync playlists containing Apple Music tracks, from Rekordbox to the Omnis. I mean I get the obvious reasons why you can't transfer files, but a simple playlist ?

This is a big deal breaker for me, and I'm looking into other options like the Prime Go.

So I'm wondering, can you make playlists consisting of Apple Music tracks in EngineDJ desktop, and sync those playlists to the Denon ? While keeping beat grids, cue points etc. I tried the software but I only see an iTunes option. For obvious reasons I know you can't actually transfer audio files from Apple Music, but I just want to make my own playlists while keeping CUE points.

Thank you !

So even when Self Hosting I can't have 20+ tracks ? Wtf ?

At first I was like "yeah that makes sense, I can't use Pioneer's cloud for free", but then even after connecting my OWN hosting service (Google Drive), I can't have more than 20 tracks ? Wtf ? So I have to pay on top of already having my own personal cloud ?

Is there no way around this ? I got the Omnis mainly for Apple Music for parties with friends, is this really the only way to keep your CUE/BeatGrids for streaming services tracks ?

If so then this is next level bullshit, that's crazy.

EDIT: misused the term "self hosting", I meant "using other services", like GDrive or Dropbox.

(EU-NL) Omnis Duo at only 1100€ instead of 1500 on Coolblue

Hi !

I was looking for a standalone unit, and dismissed the Omnis Duo due to, imo, its insanely inflated price. BUT, found out today it's "only" 1100€ on Coolblue, instead of the usual 1500. Much better value, so I got one instead of the Numark Mixstream or Denon Prime Go.

If you were looking to buy one and are in the EU, it's here ! Just thought it was worth sharing.
It's also on the Belgian website for 1130€.

Is the Omnis Duo really the only solution in its category ?

EDIT: I ended up ordering the Omnis anyway, found it a 1100€ brand new in a Belgian shop. At the usual 1500 price I wouldn't take it. Numark Mixstream looked cheap to me (+ concerning reviews or speakers blowing out), and the Prime Go looks too small to me.

Hi !

I'll be travelling in a van soon, and am looking for an all in one solution to play DJ Sets in different locations. My needs are:

  • All In One (no laptop/ipad)
    • I might accept using a laptop/ipad if the total price makes sense, especially since the new and very cheap Macbook Neo
  • Portable
  • RekordBox compatibility
  • 2 Way
  • Battery Powered
    • I could use my van's power system, but I might want to play in locations where I can't park

I know of the Denon DJ Prime go, but I don't like the layout with horizontal EQ. I'm used to CDJs/XDJ 1000/XDJ XZ, and would like to stay in a Rekordbox ecosystem.

Is the Omnis Duo really the only one fitting those criterias ? I guess yes because of its price, but I'm not following the new hardware news, so maybe there's something else I don't know of, or something that will be released soon ?

Ford Transit 2021: faulty screen/air conditioning/locking system, costly repairs ?

Hi ! I'm looking for a second hand Ford Transit for a van conversion, and found one with a very interesting price/mileage (2021 70k km, 12 000€), but the seller specified that the screen, air conditioning and the car locking system are not working.

I was wondering if all of those could potentially be easy fixes, and if they would be costly or not if I bring it to a garage, so I can estimate if the end cost is worth it or not.
