nonfiction, and religous works do not count. (that means no jesus.) this is to A. avoid contarverisy, and B. this is a sub for fiction, not non fiction.

Note: it was pointed out to me that jesus was not a good fit, and does not fit the sub rules the best, so he will not be allowed, and i am retroactivly taking the second place winner from day two, count dracula, and putting him in the same.

  1. Sherlock Holmes
  2. Count Dracula

can we please just get along?

Just saying, i dont shame people for their religion, but i dont respect them for it either. Likewise, i dont shame people for their gender or sexuality, but you don't also gain respect from me for it. Everyone just needs to realize that anything can be made easily to sound wrong or bad by the right person, and the people are not the enemy. So, Christians and Muslims, Buddhists and Hindus, agnostics and jews, black and white, gay or straight, American or French, Spanish or Chinese, South African or Indian, Soviet or Australian, come together to realize we are all human. We have been Tricked by the corporations, and by the governments. We are so uptight with each other, we forget the human. Deep inside, we are all the same. Just meat bags of this thing we call life. Now, we got to remember, there are bigger issues now than ever. i am not saying there are not. Climate change,  Nuclear war, just normal wars, rising prices, and everyone is at everyone else's throat. But now is the time to remember, we can hold hands together and say enough. I have christian and muslim friends, you know, not too long ago, that would have been seen as unseemly. I have Irish, Russian and Chinese friends. Not too long ago, that would have been considered a traitor move from my country. I have both British and French friends, and some would have been shocked at that anytime before the world wars, (mostly French and British, but still). I have white and black friends, Idian and native american, middle eastern and ocianian friends. We all can be friends, and only that way, will we survive. now before i let you go, just listen, or read, this one last quote,

“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.”

Fred Rogers

This quote is a good one, for it fits right now just as well as it did for the cold war. Now, I call on you, my friends, and be a helper. Be someone people look up to. I know damn well I will. You might not take this too seriously coming from a teen of all people, but hey, actions speak louder than words, and my actions will speak for themselves.

Me and my dog just experienced a fast moving thunderstorm while in the middle of the woods. What do I do to help her not fear thunderstorms?

so for context, me and my dog were walking down a trail when a thunderstorm came fast. we did the usual things, like stay calm, lightning crouch, got down low by short uniform trees, and make sure she stayed by me. I had no idea it was coming. lighting struck a few feet from us and my life flashed before my eyes. she has not left my side since, and her pulse feels steady. I don’t think she is too afraid , but I don’t know what to look for. advice?

the last couple are between me and him, or as he says, me and his "dad". i blurred out usernames in the chat other than myself, ponyboy, and him, but as you can see, there is a hystory of it. I wish that you know, what he said was a lie, he very much deserved what happen. i hope he can get help, but just know, please do not believe what this lier says.

edit: if anyone who is in the chat would like to make their story known, feel free, but if you would like to stay annoumus, feel free.

it was a comic strip in the late 90s by bill waterson. it is great. it is about a 8-10 year old boy(age not speicified) and his imaginary tiger best friend. It is really funny, and i suggest you read it if you have not already.
