Do your political views affect your film watching experience?

So I am watching Hurt Locker, though the film is well made. It’s from perspective of US Soldiers during IRAQ War.

So I just can’t help but bring my political hate into it.

Same happens during MCU, when they are glorifying billionaires and their weapon business.

It’s heartbreaking when people disguise as friends to sell you stuff

This happened a while back, so I met a girl on some common friends party. It felt like she was genuinely interested in me, even asked for my number and reached out later.

We talked for like an hour until she started selling me something, some spiritual bullshit products.

I mean if your intention is to sell something be straight forward, don’t waste time. Because nobody is ever buying anything like this.

And this has also happened online.

Like I will talk to a guy thinking I am building some natural friendship online, until he switches to sell something. Has happened on Reddit and Discord.

This is why they say it’s difficult to make friends as an adult because everyone has ulterior motives.

One of my dates asked for recommendation in my company, such shitty feeling.

Is this worth pursuing in court?

So I am from UAE,

I was in US last month, Chicago to be precise.

I was just chilling in park and some white old man started racially abusing. Completely unprovoked. I tried ignoring him and moved to different part of park, he followed me and got even more aggressive. Even attacking my religion.

Things got physical from my side. Cops were called. They were all ready to put me in jail until some people around defended me and explained to them what happened.

I was in detention for hours. I was then deported back and suggested to not come back for a while. I also think it will affect my future Visa chances.

I don’t know if I have any rights in US or enough to fight.

I don’t have any evidence either. But police does, they took the confessions of people around and someone in crowd also has partial recordings of events.

Should I let it be or fight in court. I just want my visa status to be clean and not affect my future travels.

It’s way easier to watch an average film than a average show

I like to experiment and try new things, like new genres, foreign content.

And even in an average film you can find many redeeming qualities and overall have a positive experience.

But if a show is mid, it gives literal headaches to me.

Because it drags for 8-10 hours. And there are always some filler episodes.

Spider-noir for example had such visual charm, but writing was all over the place. And even the scale was missing.

Young Sherlock as well, starts well but doesn’t go anywhere.

Do any of you feel same?

Why I like Nolan

  1. Most directors are a hack, like they will crack one formula and repeat it 10 times. Same genre, Same Style…Nolan is one few who has delivered in every genre. He has done everything from Science Fiction to Biopics to Superhero….and now fantasy.

  2. He doesn’t compromise. Again one of few directors that doesn’t get bullied by studio. Whatever we see is 100% his vision. He has loyal audience, so even studios trust him for most part.

  3. He is pushing limits in storytelling through non-linear storytelling, also playing with time and world(in inception, interstellar and tenet).

  4. Pushing the limits of media technology(IMAX and shit), just in it for the love of the game.

  5. He is fast and delivers something every few years, not full of bullshit talk like Tarantino.

I don’t like Dragon Spears

Dragons are supposed to be ultimate power, only Dragons should be able to kill other dragons.

The way Dragons were fleeing for their life last episode completely changes the dynamic.

I think they nerfing the dragons by making it so easy to bring them down.

This was already controversial in GOT Finale, but now it’s become even easier.

Any big upcoming shows?

I was excited for The Boys and Bear which are already over.

House of Dragon is ongoing.

Song of the Samurai and Knight of Seven Kingdoms were surprises.

Is there anything big you are looking forward to?

I want Blue Eye Samurai season 2, but I am not sure if it comes out this year.

What else?

How do you feel about elitism

Like we all feel bad when discriminated against but we all discriminate up to certain level

Like even in my brown country, there are clear social levels.

And people from rich neighbourhoods like mine don’t like it when certain people come around or use public parks in their neighbourhood. And they themselves won’t be allowed in certain social circles.

I am new rich, so it’s all so eye opening for me.

How do you perform in bed after being drunk?

So like when I go on dates, it’s usually for dinner. And even more late by the time it ends. I am already exhausted from entire day plus add few beers from date.

So by the time we reach home, I am sleepy AF.

I am usually great at sex early in morning when I am well slept and had good healthy breakfast.

Makes no sense to me how they show it in movies.

Production is just insane

You know how everyone complains about CGI in modern filmmaking and how everything looking fake and polished.

This show is benchmark for current standards, equal in quality to Pirates of Caribbean if not better.

Not a single moment where dragons looked fake.

And everything from costumes to beards to locations to set design, was so detailed and believable.

You can argue on writing and changes from book, but you can’t fault it on production quality.

It’s basically delivering a movie every week. And even 2 years feels less for such work.

My attention span is so fucked

I am watching Widows bay right now, and while reading about it on Reddit and listening to Podcasts. I realised I didn’t notice shit.

Like this used to be my thing, watching movies and shows with insane details and catching them and making theories about them.

Old me would have finished the show by now, but I can barely watch 2 episodes at a time.

Preserve if you still got it folks.

Is everything getting expensive or am I just poor?

Like I am well educated and have consistent income which is way above average.

I build my monthly budget and lifestyle around it. And try to save some.

But last few years are really crunching.

Like every other month prices just keep increasing misbalancing my calculations.

And they have gone to a point where I can’t afford to waste anything anymore.

Like earlier I used to some extra money for spas or shopping, now it’s all limited to basic necessities.

I can only imagine how people with tighter budgets might be surviving.

Looking for some Horror Action recommendations, they are rare and good ones are even rarer.

To define I would say, movie should feature some creature, or horror entity but solution should be some action.

Like Zombie Fights or some special weapon they seek.

Supernatural TV show is like that.

Many games in this genre, featuring lore and creatures and solution is always cool weapons.

On “Woke” Media

I am still so surprised to see so many posts on “how woke ruined the films”…especially since new Supergirl film is coming out.

Isn’t this debunked already? Like I remember watching a YT video a while back that did proper data analysis on this.

I can’t repeat it all.

But my primary take away was, like when a “normal” film fails nobody blames it on White Men.

Like Morbius or The Rip or Electric State. Those are just bad movies.

But if any of them featured a black man as lead or an only women, then they would get blamed for the failure of it rather than the quality of it.

Data infact showed the opposite. With amount of films White Men led, they had the highest failure rate.
