A question to all student parties: WHERE ARE YOU WHEN THE STUDENT ISSUES ARE DOMINATING NATIONAL POLITICS?
At a time when student issues have become matters of national importance - from paper leaks and flaws in the evaluation system to rising educational costs, unemployment, and concerns about governance in education, it is disappointing that our own campus appears largely silent.
PU has its own share of challenges that directly affect students and their families. Yet where are the student organisations? Where is the dialogue, the policy discussion, or even a clear articulation of proposed reforms?
PUCSC President Gaurav Veer Sohal belongs to ABVP. Surely he can get an appointment with Education Minister. But what is the stand on paper leaks? What reforms are being proposed regarding the evaluation system? What is the position on the issues affecting our own university?
Likewise, where is the NSUI? No Chhatron Ki Goonj in PU Chandigarh or other student issues being raised in coordination with Congress leaders.
Healthy student politics is not merely about winning elections; it is about representing students, raising their concerns, and advocating meaningful reforms. At present, there seems to be an unfortunate state of indifference.
