I love Street Fighter 4, but how did yall play this game.

It might be due to me putting more time into 6, but this game feels so stiff. And I'm not just talking about the fight combo timings, I can deal with that, but i can't pull off basic jump heavy-heavy punch-special attack combos consistently.

I am playing the vanilla xbox 360 version, maybe that has something to do with it. But how did veteran Street Fighter players play and get good at this game, I've seen clips online and i don't know how anyone could ever pull that off and so consistently.

What's the point of Chun Li, this isn't a tilted question its a trying to learn question.

Why is she this difficult to play, why is this control scheme necessary because I'm not seeing it. A stance/charge character with mediocre damage seems really pointless, I'm not seeing any benefit to her. Her combos require such tight timing with the stick flying all over the place and for what. Usually when a character has complex inputs its for a reason, Zangief has high damage, Jamie has long combos, what makes Chun Li worth playing.

Back then it made sense, she had many tools that other characters didnt, wall jumping, character bouncing, hard hitting specials, so a different control style made sense. But it seems like now the only reason they kept it is because she was a charge character then so why change it, but it feels like now they made it work rather than make it work well.

I know the charge can be bypassed with her stance, but that's more inputs than necessary for mediocre moves.

What the hell happened here.

What is with these anti airs and them just pushing people. It makes these jump arcs too easy to take advantage of.

What the hell is this game.

So I played The Sims 1 quite a bit on an old laptop when I was a kid, and I've recently tried to get back into it again. I tried to play 4, but it's just too much for me, I won't go into it but its just too much. So I decided to get 3 instead.

I'm like three days into a brand new character, I get a job at a diner, I get some new stuff for my apartment, its all going smoothly. Then my boss just calls and asks if she can be buzzed in, still being new to all of this I let her in. She goes into my house, watches my tv, then goes into my room and makes faces in my mirror and then plays the piano she pulled out of her ass, while I'm trying to sleep. I guess I know how my sim earned a promotion on his second day.

I've seen a lot of people complaining about the Steam Machine price, it's not that damn bad.

I'm not going to sit here a say that's its a good price, it is a little high I know, but considering the package you get, I would still pay that.

$1,049 for 512gb is a little hard to believe, I will admit that, but there are so many additional storage options for the Steam Machine that it's not that much of an obstacle. MicroSD card slot, you can put a flash drive and additional hard drive into it's usb slot. You can just use those other options just for storage then swap them out from the hard drive onto the Steam Machine itself. No, you shouldn't have to do that in the first place, but it's a work around the low storage.

You also have to consider the entire package, this is a PC, not a console. Most modern consoles aren't that far behind in price either, PS5 Pro is $899 and the Series X is $650, you'll be catching up to the Steam Machine in subscriptions just to play online before long, and that price constantly fluctuates. Once you buy the Steam Machine, that's it, that's the final price. People have been complaining about all of these subscription services for years, wanting to just pay one price and be done with it, well, here it is.

The only thing you have to buy after buying the Steam Machine are games, which you get access the best game store in the world. Constant discounts make this far more worth it than a PS5 or Xbox. Not even complaining you have to buy the controller separately works, it sucks yes, but you don't need it. It's a Steam PC, you can use any controller and any mouse and keyboard.

Then people are going to complain that it's not as powerful, good, I'm glad its weaker than most modern consoles. That will make developers focus on making good games rather than just pretty ones. The best era of gaming was the Xbox 360 and PS3 era, we need more stuff like that and as long as every console is as powerful as it possibly can be, that's going to be less of a priority.

I also trust Valve enough to know that this is the best price they could make it without losing millions, and if they did such a good job with Steam by itself, there's no telling how much love was put into the Steam Machine it self. Hell, the controller screams when you drop it and you can control it like a RC car with the right tools. I'm going to get it the first chance I get because despite the price I know it's still worth it.

The Steam Machine has the potential to be the thing we remember 10-15 years from now, the thing we look back on and get chills when we hear the start up, just like many people do with the Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3.

How do you play Chun Li and other charge characters.

I've loved Chun Li since the beginning, and I've been interested in playing her for years, but I cannot wrap my head around charge characters. I thought that since she's less of a charge character in 6, I'd give her another shot and I still can't wrap my head around her.

I've been playing shotos for forever, are there any tips for the conversion. If anyone played shotos then switched to Chun Li, some tips would be great.

What the hell do you do during the winter.

I'm on my second farm, and I'm on my first winter on that farm, and it's the absolute worst time during the game. I learned from my mistakes from my last farm, I've reached the bottom of the mines, all of my tools are gold, what am I supposed to do. It's to the point where I haven't played the game in a week after playing it for weeks straight because I don't want to deal with that stagnant time, there's just nothing to look forward too.

How do I go from controller to fight stick.

So I've been playing SF6 for almost 300 hours, and I've been using controller the entire time, but I want to switch to fight stick. The reason for the switch is that controller is comfortable, but is ultimately leading to issues i believe a fight stick can solve.

Mainly with combo consistency, with the little I've used the fight stick the combos feel so much better to do, the biggest issue with controller is I over press and mash buttons was too easily, I do that far less. Supers and specials are quicker for me since I can do most of the with a flick of my wrist so reactions are easier.

But it does have some drawbacks for me, for example playing neutral is harder for me on stick. I believe its because its easier to press simple buttons on controller, but harder for long stings, and stick has the opposite issue, longer strings are easier, but simple button presses are harder. Another thing is using drive, with controller the inputs for both Drive Parry and Impact where settled on my pointer finger ready to be used in a moments notice, but now on stick its up to my pinky to press it and its noticeably harder.

I want to up my game and I think that moving to stick could be the answer. Is there anyone who had a similar issue who has some tips that helped them, or is it a trial and error kind of situation.

Genuine question, how do you get through Kojima games.

So I've tried multiple Kojima games, with Metal Gear Solid 1 and 3, and Death Stranding. With MGS1 I think I made it a little after the first fight with Ocelot, the one with the bomb wire room. I never made it that far in MGS3, maybe after meeting EVA. And I cant remember how far I made it in Death Stranding, probably shortly after unlocking the bike. So I never made it that far in any of them, but I also never really wanted to.

I know these games are great, when I see all the memes and edits talking about how these games are peak cinema, I fully agree. The humor Kojima has with it's jokes and on the nose names is probably the simplest yet smartest and funniest stuff I've seen in years. But getting to those jokes and cutscenes are torture for me.

With MGS1, I think the biggest issue is that I'm not that big into stealth games, the farthest I'll probably go is stealth archer in Skyrim. I gave it an honest shot but I just couldn't do it. The same goes with MGS3, it was better in it's gameplay with it being more advanced and fully 3D, but again I'm not the biggest stealth guy. But I think if i could find a game that made me want to push through, I could find my self enjoying it.

Then Death Stranding was a whole other issue. I knew all the jokes about it being a walking simulator before I bought it, but I assumed that those were just exaggerations. I assumed wrong. The world itself is beautiful, the way you traverse it is also really cool, but it felt like that should have been a feature in a bigger game, not what the entire game is based on. Now I did make it to the part where bandits start being a problem and you have to deal with them and actual combat is a thing. Also the first boss was amazing, visually and the actual fight itself, it was simple but engaging. That's how you do a boss fight.

Then there's the biggest issue i have with these games, there are just so many god damn cutscenes. I love a good cutscene, but Kojima took it up to a 12, it is just too much. It wouldn't be so bad if the majority of these cutscenes were actually doing something or explaining something, at least to me or in a way that made me want to be engaged. Death Stranding has it bad because after these deliveries, the people just wanna yap.

In my opinion, when it comes to game design, gameplay should come first, before story, before graphics, before anything else. If the game is fun to play, it can make up for everything else, but poor gameplay can ruin a genuinely good story and world that someone has built. But with Death Stranding, the gameplay, at least in the time i played, was so boring. Nothing really happened, the BT sections weren't that difficult, tense as hell which made up for it, but not difficult. It had a few moments where I figured out how to bypass a difficult terrain in a clever way, it felt really rewarding and a that's so cool moment, but that's about it.

What I'm asking is, I can't be the only person who thought or felt this way about these games and I want to give them a chance. Has anyone else disliked these games but found something about them that made them enjoy them in a way I'm not.
