Before/after UI redesign for my space mining incremental game

Been improving the UI and progression flow of my game after getting a lot of useful player feedback recently.

I redesigned several interface panels to make everything easier to read and feel more visually cohesive, while also rebalancing automation and progression so the early game moves faster and feels less overwhelming.

Still working on improving the overall balance and onboarding experience, but I’m pretty happy with the direction the game is heading so far.

I added a few screenshots so people can better compare the UI changes.

What do you think about the new direction?

Game demo if anyone wants to try it:

Luximiner - Updated the UI and rebalanced progression in my browser-based space mining game

I’ve been working on improving the overall feel and readability of the game after receiving feedback from players.

This update mainly focuses on: redesigning parts of the UI, improving readability, making the panels feel cleaner and more cohesive, and speeding up the progression/automation flow.

I also rebalanced worker automining and adjusted some upgrades so the early game feels less slow and repetitive.

Still working on balancing the game, but I’m happy with the direction the game is heading so far.

Would love to hear what people think about the updated UI and overall pacing.

After releasing multiple games, this is the first one where players actually stayed long enough to critique the systems

I’ve uploaded a few small games to itch.io before, but most of them went pretty unnoticed.

This time was different.

I know these aren’t insane numbers or anything, but seeing people actually play the game, leave detailed feedback, and discuss the systems genuinely motivated me to keep improving it.

I posted my game in few subreddits, and most of the feedback has been about the tutorial, UI flow, worker system, progression pacing, automation balance, etc. One player even broke down exactly why the first 10 minutes felt confusing and suggested a better way to introduce workers step-by-step.

And honestly, that feedback helped a lot more than I expected.

So over the last few hours I’ve been:

  • rewriting tutorial text,
  • highlighting important keywords,
  • reorganizing upgrades,
  • buffing worker automation,
  • and trying to make the early game less overwhelming overall.

I'm still pretty new to this whole thing, so I'm curious:

What would you recommend I focus on next?

Still a long way to go, but this is probably the most motivated I’ve felt working on a game.

Looking for feedback on the UI/progression feel of my incremental mining gam

Game Title: Luximiner
Playable Link: https://madhatstudio.itch.io/luximiner
Platform: Windows/Web
Free To Play Status: Free Demo
involvement: Developer

The game revolves around: mining alien resources, assigning workers, automation, research progression, storage management, station logistics, and a market/economy system.

Current systems include: mining areas, research/laboratory upgrades, a station where ships deliver employees/resources, and a market where mined materials are sold.

I’d really appreciate honest feedback from you:

  • Does the UI communicate progression well?
  • Does anything feel visually overwhelming or empty?
  • Do the different screens feel connected?
  • What would you improve first?

I’m still very early in figuring out whether this project has real potential, so I’d rather hear honest criticism now than too late later on 😄

I’ve been making a small sci-fi incremental game and I’d genuinely love some honest feedback

Hey everyone, I’ve been working on a little incremental/management game called Luximiner for a while now and I think it’s finally at the point where other people can try it.

The idea is basically: mine resources on alien planets, automate production, hire employees, research upgrades, manage storage, and slowly expand your whole operation.

Right now there’s: a mining area, a laboratory/research system, a station where ships arrive with employees/resources, and a market where you sell minerals.

I’m honestly not trying to promote a Steam page or anything yet because I still don’t know if the game actually has potential lol. I mostly want real feedback from people who actually enjoy incremental games.

Things I’d especially love feedback on:

  • does the progression feel satisfying or is it too slow?
  • does the UI make sense?
  • does it feel relaxing or grindy?
  • what systems feel the most fun?

I attached some screenshots. Be brutally honest if something looks boring/confusing.

Here's the game:
