I have been seeing so much about mixing with kick at 0 and I want to try as a beginner but after adding a couple other elements I’m clipping the master and the distortion is easily audible.

Do you need to mix into a limited when doing this? It seems like a good idea but idk why they don’t care about clipping I try not to care and no individual channels clip my master is clipping by 6 db and like I said the distortion is awful.

I really have no idea how people mix like this!!

Hi I posted here I think once before, my fiance and I finalized our honeymoon and I was hoping for some help when deciding where to stay. Our itinerary is below with some context! Any help is super appreciated!!!

Flying into Rome staying for 2 nights (Planning on a simple air bnb here)

Headed to Amalfi for 6 nights (want this to be the more traditional honeymoon vibe, air bnb? Potential “resort” type places to stay? - don’t know what to do here

Doing a roadrip to Florence and staying 3 nights (probably air bnb)

Heading to French Riviera for a week (again more of honeymoon vibe no clue what to do here for stay)

Finishing in Milan for 3 nights and flying home out of Milan (probably air bnb)

Really just kinda don’t know what to do with our longer “honeymoon stays” French Riviera and Amalfi!

Any advice or thoughts are appreciated :-)

Hey I really struggle with understanding like 150-500 hz.
Right now my lead in c3 octave has a fundamental of 170-180 ish hz. And then fills a lot of 300-1000 and above.

My bass’s second fundamental is between 140-180 depending on the note of bassline and then occupies up to 1K.

If I raise my lead an octave it’s fundmental is like 350 hz and they don’t clash as much.

If I left the lead in c3 octave (sounds way better),
Is there a real issue with the 140-180 range then? I’m pretty beginner so I can’t just hear that and be like yeah it clashes.

Okay would love more experienced travelers thoughts my fiance and I get married next June. We want a honeymoon that is sort of split between a typical resort style trip and one where we can explore and see more than 1 place while we’re gone.

I developed a route today would love thoughts.

We booked flights to Rome. That’s all we have down.

It’s a 3 week honeymoon
We land in Rome at 10AM June 6. I planned to stay here 2 nights (6/7) so we can see Rome. Then we will rent a car down to amalfi coast for 5 days (8-12).

Then drive up to Florence for 2 nights (13-14), then to Nice/monaco for 4 nights (15-18) then to Barcelona for the rest of our trip (19-25).

We WANT to hop and see places. I just don’t want to bite off more than we can chew. We are good travelers driven 12+ hours in one go here in the states many times. We were planning Milan for a night or two because we both funny enough have been there separately our only time in Europe each. But I think that really would make it hectic.

I feel like this plan is what we want, I just want to know if it can be optimized, or any advice at all really for the roadtrips, if any substitute cities are worth noting, and if amalfi coast / Barcelona as our longer legs of the trip can provide the typical “resort ish honeymoon” while the other legs provide us that travel and sightseeing part we want.

Hey anyone ever run into rent to own authorization not working. I ended up just paying my balance hoping that would fix it, but I’ve had to put two reports in and my saving/exporting is disabled :/.

I’m on Mac my firewall is off I have no idea why this randomly happened but it blows.

I am trying to screen record videos off a Patreon user I subbed to so I can watch them back. I hate having to do it on my phone because then when I watch back In my studio on my Mac the resolution isn't as good and its harder to see.

But when I use QuickTime there is no audio?

Also - is it possible to screen record with QuickTime on my and get the audio captured while wearing headphones?

I’m trying to understand how splice x ableton works, when I drag samples into the daw it isn’t using credits like if I downloaded to my splice library.

Is this not literally unlimited credits then? If I just save the project and collect the samples it isn’t downloading to splice library therefore not using credits?

Why would they do this.? lol or am I misunderstanding.

Avicii is my biggest inspiration for producing. I love his entire discography. And one day I hope to be able to make folk/prog house.

His earlier stuff more “beep boop”, I’m thinking like last dance. I absolutely love the track.

I’m curious for some thoughts how he progressed as an artist. To me his earlier stuff seems much easier to make than stuff from True.

I’ve been producing for 7 months from no musical background.

How did Avicii progress from super digital edm sounding stuff to being able to work well with live recording and artists so quickly?

How can I start incorporating guitars and strings into my tracks?

I’ve been producing for 7 months and stick to drums synths pianos etc very housey stuff.

I’ve always had a passion for folk stuff and would love to incorporate strings and guitars in my stuff.

I’m assuming it works the same as synths with theory and piano roll.

But in ableton can I achieve this its stock plugins? Any suggestions of plugins that could help since I can’t play guitar myself to record it in!

I’m at the stage I can make a track that will have mix problems, maybe some sound design stuff off, ya know minor/basic issues.

Do I just keep hammering songs out to practice? I have no problem doing that but I’m not sure if my last few songs are truly getting better.

I just got feedback from a known producer and he instantly said my sounds were fighting and I agree.

I struggle with trying to get more tracks per project I know people say it doesn’t matter but pros have like 60-80 or more. I try to layer a couple mid basses and synths and it’s instantly clashing to better ears than mine.

I love my songs even if they aren’t amazing I can groove to them and I love the process.

But after 7 months from no background I’m wondering how to maximize my 1-2 hours I get a day.
