After building recruitment software, I realized most resume tools are solving the wrong problem
While building a recruitment portal for a large engineering college, I got to see how resume shortlisting actually works internally.
What surprised me was that most resume builders focus on things like: grammar scores fancy designs keyword stuffing
But recruiters today are increasingly using AI-assisted screening to evaluate: project relevance skill alignment with job descriptions experience depth technical exposure overall fit for the role
That experience pushed me to build CVInsight over the last few months.
It’s a free ATS-friendly resume platform where you can:
create resumes with 4 clean ATS templates tailor resumes according to job descriptions get AI-based resume scoring edit resumes unlimited times track multiple resume versions export/share easily
I kept the core features free because I was tired of tools blocking basic resume editing behind paywalls.
The only thing required is signup, mainly because the platform uses AI features and I needed a way to prevent abuse/bot usage and allow users to manage multiple resume versions.
Not claiming this will magically get someone a job no tool can do that.
But I wanted to build something that actually reflects how modern shortlisting works instead of giving random “resume scores.”
Would genuinely love feedback from people applying for internships/jobs right now.
