What did it take for you to turn to IVF?

TW: LC

I’m 37 years old. I had my son in Jan 2025 (I was 36). Easily conceived, uncomplicated pregnancy.

I got pregnant again 1 year postpartum (Jan 2026). This ended in a missed miscarriage (anembryonic pregnancy discovered at 9 weeks, stopped developing at 6 weeks). I was absolutely rocked by this.

I got pregnant again 3 months later in July 2026. I just discovered the fetus is Trisomy 21 and we will be proceeding with TFMR within the upcoming weeks.

MFM states these losses are likely unrelated.

All of these pregnancies were conceived by accident/first try. This is not a brag, as I think it is actually hurting my chances of having a healthy baby because my body just seems to allow any egg to be fertilized and implanted. I can’t help but feel my eggs are just bad at this point.

I have read about hyperfertility and wonder if this is a factor that can be overcome by IVF.

I am also wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation and how your IVF journey has gone - worth it? Regret anything? Cost? I am in the Midwest US.

I don’t want to waste more time if the writing is on the wall, I’m just unsure what my chances are if I try again naturally vs utilize IVF.

I’m out. T21.

I was finally starting to get comfortable acknowledging this pregnancy after a miscarriage in April 2026. I thought this was going to be my rainbow baby born 1 year after loss.

My 8 and 12 week appts were normal, measuring on track, heart rate was great. I’m 13 weeks tomorrow and I’m finally getting out of the first trimester fog.

But NIPT just came back high risk trisomy 21 male. There was <1% chance of this (even adjusted for my age of 37. We will TFMR. I had a healthy low risk baby 20 months ago. All pregnancies conceived first try.

Any positive stories of pregnancy after miscarriage and TFMR greatly appreciated right now. I just want to know that I can have another healthy baby in my late 30s. I know no one can answer that question, but any stories of hope would be greatly appreciated. I don’t want to delude myself, just looking for some kind of comfort right now. I hope no one else in this group has to go through this.

TFMR after miscarriage, future pregnancies?

I am 37 yo and have a 20 mo boy (born when I was 36 - healthy normal pregnancy and delivery).

I got pregnant 12 months postpartum and had a MMC in April 2026 (anembryronic pregnancy diagnosed at 9 weeks). I got pregnant again July 2026 and my NIPT results just came back high risk T21. We will likely TFMR.

I am reeling. Is it just my age? My husband is also advanced paternal age but semen analysis is good with DNA frag <9%. Will I be able to give my son a sibling? I know these aren’t answerable questions. I feel like I won the statistical lottery in the 7th circle of hell, just as I was letting my guard down and had normal initial scans.

Wondering if anyone has experienced similar in their late 30s??
I would love to hear all experiences (good & bad).

Progesterone Drop at 6 weeks?

I am 7 weeks pregnant after MMC in April (measured 6 weeks, discovered at 9). Passed naturally at 10 weeks. I had no symptoms of MC and no labs.

Labs for my current pregnancy:

4 weeks (14 DPO): progesterone 23.6, Hcg 102. Hcg was doubling every 32 hrs or so.

6 weeks (28 DPO): progesterone 17.6, Hcg 24,397

I am so worried this is indicative of another MMC and I don’t have my viability ultrasound until 9 weeks, yet again.

Has anyone had similar experience with progesterone drop at 6 weeks? I’ve read about luteal-placental shift, but I think it is too early to qualify. Could another draw next week (8 weeks) give me more clarity? My mild symptoms have actually gotten worse this week so I am confused.

Labs for my current pregnancy:

4 weeks (14 DPO): progesterone 23.6, Hcg 101.8. Hcg was doubling every 32 hrs or so.

6 weeks (28 DPO): progesterone 17.6, Hcg 24,397

I am so worried this is indicative of another MMC and I don’t have my viability ultrasound for 2 more weeks.

Chemical? 10-13 DPO

First cycle trying after MMC 3 months ago. Got pregnant easily, but something doesn’t feel right. I appreciate honesty, please don’t sugarcoat! I am guarding my heart.
