Please help this baby (deira city center bus stop 1) <3

Hi everyone,

I'm posting here in the hope that someone with a kind heart might be willing to take care of this sweet little cat. 🥺❤️

I always see her around Deira City Centre Bus Stop 1, and every time I pass by, she's either sleeping outside or quietly sitting by herself. With the Dubai heat getting hotter every day, it honestly breaks my heart to see her out there. :((

Earlier today, I left some water beside her because I was worried she might be dehydrated. I also took these photos because I noticed her tongue was sticking out, and it made me worry that she might be exhausted from the heat (you can see it in one of the photos). She seems very gentle and friendly, and I truly believe she deserves a safe, loving home instead of living on the streets.

I would take her in myself, but I already have two cats at home, and they're still struggling to get along with each other, so unfortunately I'm not able to bring another cat into the house.

Does anyone know of a local rescuer, foster, or anyone who might be able to help this little one?

If you're familiar with this area or know someone who helps stray cats, please let me know. I just want to give her the best chance of finding a safe place.

Mac Mini + MBA or MBP?

I am a student, and I really enjoy coding serious GPUI or Tauri or Next.js apps.

Right now I already have a MBA 13' 16/512 10/8 M4. Its getting hot very often now when I have 2+ mins compilations, and the storage is not enough for the enormous target folders. I want to get a new mac.

I also value portability and battery life, as I will be using the macbook for school. I will also be keeping whichever I buy for at least 5 years.

As the title suggests I have 2 choices in mind

Prices & Configs

The Mac Mini with the same config (cores/ram/ssd) is around 700 USD cheaper than MBP but if I get the MBP I can sell my current air.

I'm looking at at least 24GB/1TB, maybe 48 ram or 2TB ssd.

Which one should I get? I'm open to all suggestions, even ones that are not in my list.

Edit: the important part is coding, not being a student. So please don’t say students only deserve air or similar.

Edit: to clarify a few things I’m not a college student. I’m a 6th grader who just really likes coding. My budget is very high, around 2700 usd. And please don’t suggest windows as I don’t like using it and my school recommends macs.

Windows 11: Chrome Stable overrides Default Browser Settings (Chrome Beta) On Reboot

Hi, I am a developer and student, and I want to use chrome beta as my main browser because:

  • It has more features
  • It is almost completely stable
  • It gets new features faster But I also want to use stable for dev testing and school ultimate security and stability.

What happened

I set the default app to Chrome Beta in the normal settings UI, and some time later I restarted my Windows 11 Pro Surface Pro 10 For Business. And the default app went back to stable!

I was completely dumbfounded and asked AI to fix this so many times. It just messed with my registry so I stopped.

I really need help as school starts few days later. Open to all help.

First MacBook for Next.js / Rust: Base M5 vs M5 Pro (24GB)?

Hi, I am considering the following options for my first MacBook and ditching windows.

- MBP M5
- MBP M5 Pro

Both with 24gb and 1tb (but I can maybe get the m5 to 32gb)
- I mostly do heavy web dev (nextjs), with electron and tauri sometimes, light to medium rust, huge mono repos.
- I am also looking to learn swift.
- My main code editor is zed and secondary vscode
- I have a habit to close chrome tabs after a while
- I don’t do much video editing or photo editing or game dev or blender.

I also value portability a bit (I often bring it out).
I want to keep for at least 3-4, Ideally 5 years.

Open to any suggestions!
