How do I approach my leaking shower?

Not a handy person. Can I demo this myself
Replacing carpet with hardwood. I have been estimated about $1,400 for “Demo and dispose of carpet, padding, tack strip and staples” (800sqft).
How hard is it going to be to do it myself?
Any advice or suggestions to be successful as a total noob?

A house I’m considering to buy (NY state) had a water leakage 2 years ago that prompted them to change the bottom level flooring. They found out there were asbestos tiles, and got a company to remove them. Currently upper level is about 1,000 sqft and has carpet and we would like to replace it with hard wood.
- We are wondering if at the time it was common to put asbestos tiles also in a upper level? Or maybe was just a thing that was done in basements?
- Anyone has an idea of how much more expensive would be to have a company remove asbestos tiles for a 1.000 sqft area?

It was included it in a lot I bought recently. I thought it was the vintage one but realized is a 2016 reprint. Couldn’t find comps on TCGP or much on eBay either. Anyone has a clue?
