I painted a fried egg on a piece of wood I found at Goodwill

I sanded it with 80, then 120, then 220 grit sandpaper, wiped it down, and painted it with $1 acrylic paints from Target. 🍳

How do i fix this desk?

It’s my wife’s desk. I tried sanding it and a bunch of the veneer splintered and cracked. I tried taking it all off but the glue is pretty solid on the rest of it 😭 I don’t care if the result is pretty, i just want her to be able to run her hand over it without getting splinters in her palm. Thanks :)

I did an ice cream painting for my kitchen

A few weeks ago i posted a butter painting i did for my kitchen. Somebody in the comments suggested i also do an ice cream cone in a floating frame, and today i found a floating frame at Goodwill so here’s my ice cream art 🍨

I did this today with a soldering iron and a dream

It took forever and i have a wicked headache, but it was a lot of fun.

I cannot wait until a real woodburning tool finds me

I wanted a butter painting for my kitchen

But I’m not really confident in my painting skills, so i did it in marker, cut it out and glued it to the canvas (i did paint the stripes on the canvas 🤣)

I thrifted this mug intending to use it for plants. Got it home and thought “no, this mug wants to be a candle.” I’ve never made a candle before. Tada.

My ex is mad at me

She keeps texting me. Every 30 or so seconds, I get another text from her. She’s mad as hell at me. I see the text snippets pop up on the screen.

“How dare I think there could be the slightest…”
“Of course you have to live in a world where you’re…”
“I suppose this is all my fault for trying to find…”

You’d think she’d run out of things to say, but nope. She just keeps going! She dumped me two months ago and she still has this much venom. And let me tell you… this is bad, i feel bad saying it, but it feels like kind of a relief lying here and watching her rage pile up, knowing that I am in no way responsible for fixing it. It feels like… weirdly safe.

I should probably feel worse for her that she’s suffering this much, but at this point, I just don’t. I loved her and tried to take care of her for over a decade and it just wasn’t enough, she always needed more. Everything I did was wrong and i should have known better what she needed. Etc. etc. She’s generally a nice girl but when something pisses her off, it’s like she gets possessed by a demon for the next 12-48 hours where everything is wrong and everyone is against her. Like… i tried my best to make sure she always felt safe, but i can’t keep her safe from what’s in her own head. It’s bad, but i feel so relieved that I don’t have to navigate this argument.

Calories in my homemade yogurt?

I made yogurt with a half gallon of whole milk, then strained it through cheesecloth. I was left with ~5ish cups of strained yogurt and 3ish cups of whey. About many calories are in the whey and how many in the ‘gurt? Thanks!

REI Trail 40 backpack covered in soy sauce. How should I clean it?

Hi all, as the title says I had a huge bottle of tamari in my backpack and it flipped upside down and leaked everywhere. It's been like two weeks but my backpack still reeks of tamari and it's stinking up my room. How should I clean it? Throwing it in the washing machine feels wrong somehow. Thanks!
