Ok, we all know that every BBTS song is underrated since the whole catalog deserves a lot more attention than it gets--even though they are definitely growing as a group. That said, each album has had its songs that are released in music video form, reacted to, and regulars on the live setlists.
What are some of your favorite songs that you think deserve to be as much of a classic as Sayonara Birthday? One that springs to mind for me is ∞ハートビート, the third track from Noisy Night Fever. It is pure energy and light for me. Has anyone seen this song performed?
I don’t know if this is a relevant thing to discuss here, but I (as many others here) consider the former Avengers to be intrinsically tied to BABYMETAL. So I think this is of interest to many of you.
Riho-chan will be staring in a live action series adaptation of the manga “How Do We Relationship?” She will also have music in the soundtrack.
The Manga is a queer romance drama featuring a complicated romance between two young women in university. Music and social discomfort are central to the themes.
Riho will be playing Saeko, who wants to initiate the romance in question. This promises to be a genuinely mature artistic turn for Riho-chan. From the announcements I have read, an LGBT supervisor is included among the production cast.
It comes out in Japan next week, so I don’t know how available it will be internationally, if at all. I wonder if any of our Japanese folks in this sub can let us know!

I came home to some amazing mail today. A belated (very belated) birthday gift. To get it the day after seeing BABYMETAL makes it feel somewhat miraculous.
The BABYMETAL fandom, for all its quirks and occasional challenges, has offered me a much needed sense of belonging during the hardest years of my life. Funko pops are a silly way to be reminded of that, but I feel that these are a token nonetheless.
Despite the nosebleed seats, the brief set, and the disappearing merch, it was a blast taking the kid to see her seventh BABYMETAL show last night. We got to run into old friends, met u/rickwagner, got about a billion homemade bracelets, and watched the kid get showered in compliments for her uniform.
She usually chooses to be Su, but this time went with a Moa look. The best for me, though, was dancing like crazy next to my daughter to our shared favorite band. I didn’t take many videos or pictures to live in the moment, but you see some here.
On October 1st, it will be my first BABYMETAL show without my daughter since I saw them in 2016. I will be in the pit area for the first time since then. It will be bittersweet, but damn if I’m not looking forward to it. I also like both opening bands for the upcoming tour, so it will be aces all around.

Of course at this point this is not really a discussion about “blue dot fever“ or any possibility of canceling shows. We all know that’s not going to happen. Now we are on the cusp of the North American tour, and I’m wondering how tickets sales have done in your area.
I will be seeing them in San Diego on Sunday, which is not really a show that Counts. I also have tickets for Phoenix on October 1. It is one month away and seems to be maybe 40% sold, if that.
Again, this is not a doom and gloom post. It’s more curiosity and possibly discussion?
Does anyone else think the fabric and printing quality means we won’t be able to wash this more than twice in its lifetime? There’s always hand wash, I guess.
I don’t know exactly how interesting this is, but BABYMETAL is included in a list of Forbes Japan 30 under 30 Spotlight. It is cool to see them getting so much attention right now in their home country.
I have over $700 in my checking account. I just got declined while trying to get gas at the gas station. It wasn’t for any merchant reason, it was just getting declined. When I tried to call, the AI assist told me I was declined for lack of funds. When I asked how much funds I had, it told me over 700. When I asked why I got declined for lack of funds when I had funds, it said you need a live agent and then it hung up on me because no one is available after 5 PM. Now I’m stuck with a car that has no gas and I don’t know what to do and it’s infuriating. SoFi what is going on?

Last year she passed out stickers she made at age 7. Now she has her age 8 version to pass out at the San Diego Petco Park show. I will take some to the Phoenix show, too, even though she won’t be able to join me for that one. 😭
