Please help me

Hi everyone, I need some guidance regarding my employment in Saudi Arabia.

My Qiwa contract is a 1-year fixed-term contract ending on 16/09/2026, with a 60-day notice period for non-renewal. My intention is to complete the contract and exit normally after it expires.

However, Qiwa does not allow me to select "Termination upon Contract Expiration" because it says I haven't completed one year in Saudi. The other termination options also show the same restriction, so I cannot submit my notice.

On top of that, my company says I signed a separate 2-year private contract before joining and is demanding 12,000 SAR to process my final exit. They claim I must pay compensation if I leave after completing only the 1-year Qiwa contract.

Has anyone faced a similar issue? Any advice regarding Qiwa, MHRSD, or the legal validity of the private contract would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Please help

Hi everyone. I have been working in Saudi Arabia for almost one year now. Due to both work-related issues and personal reasons, I have decided to leave the company and take a final exit after completing my one-year contract.

The contract registered on the Qiwa portal is for one year only. However, before I came to Saudi, the company made me sign a separate two-year bond. That bond does not mention any penalty amount or legal consequences if I leave before completing two years.

According to the Qiwa contract, there should be no problem if I complete the one-year term and decide not to renew it. It also states that the Qiwa contract is the governing/final contract.

Now, the company is saying that they will use the separate two-year bond against me and that I have to pay around SAR 6,500 (or whatever amount they decide) to the company; otherwise, they will not process my final exit.

I'm really worried because I may soon be unemployed, and paying such a large amount is very difficult for me. Has anyone here faced a similar situation? Can the company legally enforce a separate two-year bond when the Qiwa contract is only for one year? Would filing a complaint with the Ministry of Human Resources or any other authority help?

Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Need opinions

I am currently working as a Chemist in a company in Saudi Arabia. It has been 7 months since I joined. Honestly, I chose this job without much interest from the beginning. I completed B.Tech in Chemical Engineering, and when I asked many people at that time whether this job was good, most of them said that this role is not really suitable for someone with a B.Tech degree and that it has limited career growth. But since I couldn’t get any other opportunity, I accepted it.

When I came here, I thought I might be able to switch to another job or move to an engineering position within the same company. But now, with this chemist role, I don’t think that is likely to happen.

The duty here is 12 hours, along with around 2 hours of travelling daily. Since the job mostly involves standing for long hours, I started getting leg pain and developed varicose veins. Mentally also, I don’t feel peaceful or satisfied.

My contract is valid until September. After that, I am thinking about resigning, going back to India, and preparing for GATE or PSU exams. But at the same time, I am scared that if I leave this job, I might once again enter an unemployment phase.

Right now, because of overtime, I am earning around ₹1 lakh per month. My family does not have much savings, and recently my father developed a health issue that may even require surgery. I believe the money I saved here will at least help for that.

Already, after Plus Two, I spent two years preparing for NEET, and then I joined B.Tech. My family is also not very supportive of me leaving this job and returning home. I somehow studied well and passed everything, but mentally I am in a very difficult state now.

I am worried that if I resign, prepare for exams, and still fail to clear them, my mental condition may become even worse. Right now, I am applying to many jobs through LinkedIn, but nobody is responding. So my current plan is to somehow start studying during my duty breaks and free time
