Sometimes I remember how mean my family was to me when I was a kid and it breaks my heart. It feels like it shaped the adult I’ve become

Sometimes i remember how mean everyone was to me and i just wonder what i did to deserve that. I was constantly humbled and put down. Always criticized, even for things as little as how I held a spoon and how i laughed. They constantly spoke negatively into my life. I was always told I was unfriendly, mean, angry and overall not a good person and I internalized it and never really thought more of myself. Told I was a witch. At a point I was banned from a room in my house because I was ugly and they didn’t like seeing me in there. When I cried, I was told I was even uglier and I was berated and provoked even more. I genuinely hated being a kid and thought no one loved me. Even my siblings, aunts and uncles were mean to me. I grew up a shell of myself. Lacked confidence and never put much effort into life and didn’t think anything would ever work out in my favor. Now as a 22 year old girl, I find myself constantly enraged. Everything just gets me so mad. I don’t like being depended on and I struggle with patience because no one had the patience for me when I needed it. It feels like it shaped the person I’ve become. I am constantly overthinking and anxious. I have become a lonely adult, just stick to myself and don’t talk much. I could never treat any kid the way I was treated. Just seeing kids cry makes me so sad.

Recent finance grad feeling stuck, what would you do in my position?

I’m a recent finance grad and graduated this past spring. My dream has always been investment banking, but I was never able to land an IB internship, and now it feels like I missed my chance.
I’ve had three internships, but most of what I did was busy work. I didn’t get much experience with financial analysis, modeling, transactions, or anything that actually prepared me for the roles I want.

Now I’m applying for “entry-level” finance jobs, and so many require 1–2 years of relevant experience. How are you supposed to get that experience when no one will give you a chance to gain it?

I also don’t want to take another random job just to have something on my resume and end up in the same position a few years from now.

What roles should I be targeting as a realistic stepping stone? I’m looking for something where I can build strong financial/analytical skills(portfolio valuation, underwriting, investment banking), get meaningful experience, and have good exit opportunities, ideally something that could eventually help me lateral into IB or another high-finance role. I’d especially appreciate advice from anyone who started in a similar position and found a way in. I don’t know what to do anymore.

An MBA is not an option at the moment so please take that into consideration before responding.

What headboard would be compatible with the IKEA Brimnes bed?

I want to get the full size of the Brimnes bed from IKEA without the headboard because the headboard takes up unnecessary space. I want a regular flat headboard that would be against the wall and one that wouldn’t require me to drill it into the wall or into the bed frame.

Is the malm bed with 4 drawers worth it? I’ve heard it is very squeaky.

I am looking for a full size white bed with a headboard that’s not too big. I found the malm bed but have seen negative reviews. I want to hear from people that have the bed and can speak from experience with it? Is it a stable bed and would you recommend it for a young adult.

3.1 gpa, non traditional premed starting post bacc in the fall. How would you go about things if you were in my position ?

I just graduated this spring with a business degree and will be starting an evening post-bacc this fall to complete my medical school prerequisites. All of my classes are after 6 PM, so I’ll have the entire day available to work and focus on extracurriculars.

My current stats:
Cumulative GPA: 3.11
Major GPA (Business): 3.70

One of the only positive parts of my application is my upward trend. My cumulative GPA was around a 2.1, and I was able to raise it to a 3.11 by graduation.
Since I was a business major, I never took the science prerequisites during undergrad, so I don’t have a science GPA yet. I guess that’s one advantage because I’ll have the opportunity to build a strong science GPA from scratch during my post-bacc.

My biggest concern is extracurriculars. Since I’ll be a post-bacc student rather than an undergrad and I don’t have a STEM background, I feel like getting research experience may be difficult.

Currently I have no volunteer hours, I’ve done an internship every summer in college but all business related.

If you were in my position, what would you do over the next 2-3 years? What extracurriculars and jobs would you focus on considering my situation?

Please don’t suggest nursing or another career. I just need to know what extracurriculars to focus on during my post bacc, if you don’t have any meaningful suggestions then please don’t say anything.
