I faked a medical photo for sick leave and my manager caught me

I called in sick to work one day because honestly i just didn't want to go in.

I wasn't really sick, just exhausted and didn't feel like dealing with work that day. I figured one day wouldn't matter, but my company required proof for sick leave and i didn't have anything.

Instead of just taking the unpaid day, I made a really stupid decision. I used AI to make a photo that looked like I had gone to a clinic. I know, sounds really dumb now lol. I checked it a bunch of times before sending it too because I really thought it looked real enough.

My manager approved the leave at first so I thought I actually got away with it.

Then a few hours later they messaged me asking where I got the photo. I got nervous immediately. They said something about it looking suspicious and that they had checked it with truthscan ai image detector.

I honestly didn't even know people were using AI detectors for stuff like that.

They asked me if I made the image and I tried thinking of some excuse for a few minutes, but there really wasn't a good one. So I just admitted it.

Ended up getting a written warning, my sick leave was denied and marked unpaid, and HR told me that if I falsified documents again it could lead to termination.

Honestly the HR meeting was probably the most embarrassing part. Having to explain that I literally faked a clinic photo because I just didn't feel like going to work that day was pretty pathetic.

Looking back, I could've just taken the unpaid day or asked for a personal day. Instead I turned one day of not wanting to work into a whole disciplinary issue.

Definitely not doing that again.

Looking for a book that feels like a warm blanket or a cozy cup of tea on a rainy day

I’m going through a slightly stressful week and want something comforting, lighthearted, and atmospheric to read before bed. Genre doesn't matter as long as it has great vibes.

How does Reddit's Contributor Quality Score actually work?

My account is over 2 years old, I have 7k+ karma, and I consistently write meaningful comments, yet my CQS is still only Moderate. What am I missing?

How long it would take or how do you get it High?

This hits way harder than it should.

The irony is painful. The goal was supposed to free people to create, not replace creativity and leave everyone grinding.
