Urgency in relationships

This may be vague, but I have always had this issue. If I get the slightest tinge of an issue with a relationship, I can't help but tell the person. I also have attachment issues, but let's focus.

I did this around 4am today with a long text to someone I was hoping to get to know better.

In my mind, I was setting a boundary that I don't want to be FWB, but it was persistent and unrelenting. I couldn't get back to sleep, it was all I could think about.

I just read in another post that if the person feels an urgency then they know it's the OCD talking. So this was definitely urgent to me. Also, please don't focus on the FWB thing, yes I set a boundary and I know it's good to have them. This issue has hurt every single relationship I've ever had or even didn't have but could have!

So, what should I have done? My bff has a 24 hour rule. Ponder the thing for 24 hours and if it's still what I want, then say it. The thing is that she doesn't have OCD and I can have the same nagging thought for days on end, really until I say it and destroy everything.

Any advice on what I could do next time? I'd love to be able to actually date and feel that kind of thing again. It's been years.

Melasma on chest

I'm looking for a cruelty free product to reverse melasma. It's between my collar bones and it comes up past my T-shirt collar. Wearing anything v neck makes me super self conscious. This began after a surrogacy pregnancy at age 36.

Thiamidol is apparently a patented ingredient (that seems to work), so what else can I use?

I tried a laser therapy treatment and it did nothing. Exfoliants do nothing. Moisturizers do nothing.

Talk to me about ERP without a therapist involved

Long pre-story short: I have had OCD my entire life, but dx a few months ago. Throughout life, I just thought I was weird and quirky (and accepting of that), then I thought I had ADHD, then got diagnosed and the psychiatrist said it's "textbook OCD".

Early dx included GAD and MDD, which I now believe to have been caused (??) by the obsessive thoughts.

In relationships, I've always called myself crazy because I had no other term for it. I self-sabotage, I try to get people to not even bother with me by telling them I'm crazy, or whatever. Anytime I've been in a relationship, it's going well and my brain hits the breaks. It seems to be "typical" ROCD. I simply say I'm afraid of commitment and laugh about it.

So now I've been at my job for a year, and I believe I have a work crush. In my obsessive, anxiety ridden brain we've already moved in together and are considering marriage, but in reality, I'd like to think of him as a crush. I literally don't know if he is interested in me. I actually think I may have ruined any chance of him being interested already, and bummed but willing to accept that.

My real question has more to do with how to help myself in baby steps!! So as I learn more about the different OCD flavors, I have many, and they've only gotten worse over the years. Germs... I'm not a super germaphobe, but I don't like to touch the stair rails at work (for instance, small example). People are gross, germs spread, and people get sick. So today I touched the rail to give myself a small amount of exposure........ Then after I unloaded my stuff into my office, I went to wash my hands. Normally I don't need to wash my hands because I don't touch anything between my car and my office.

If I'm only going to think about germs and contamination exposure at first, how can I logically and realistically do "exposure" therapy without washing my hands KNOWING germs are real and do actually get people sick. There might be 100 people in my building on any given day. That's a lot of germs.

I figure if I can work something out with germs then I will move onto another aspect in my life.

Pet potbelly pig!

I am impatiently awaiting my certificate of citizenship and have posted this question in a few places online with no substantial responses yet....

I have pets who will all be moving with me once we get to that point. I expect it to be 2-3 years from now. My potbelly pig is the big question I have. What towns/cities/municipalities will allow a pet pig in Ontario?

I understand there's a lot to do before we cross the border, plus a quarantine period for him, which I'd like info on that as well, but I can't get anywhere without a place to go, so gathering a list of places is my first step in the process.

Thank you!

Moving to Canada and needing career/education advise.

Hello all! I live in the states and am impatiently awaiting my certificate of citizenship for Canada (expected in September). My daughter is beginning dual enrollment highschool/college courses soon, and we anticipate her graduating with an Associates Degree in about 2 years. After that, the plan is to move to the Great White North as citizens for her to attend university and law school.

My question is for myself. I have a bachelors in psychology and an MBA. I have wanted to go back into mental health for a long time (had to drop out of a graduate counseling program because I got pregnant with my youngest). I am considering an online MSW program, which would take 2-3 years. I'm reading a ton of info about BSWs being able to work in Ontario as a psychotherapist (which I believe translates to "counselor" or "therapist" in the states).

If I can get finished with a BSW in two years (about when we'd move), or enroll in an MSW program which could take 3 years, what do you think would be best, assuming I'd move in 2-2.5 years?

I'm wondering about different salaries between the two degrees, salaries for starting out in the field, clinical supervision requirements, and the possibility of working from home in this field.

Thanks so much to anyone who provides advice or support!

Where can I find the Canadian flag Maple leaf mold?

Looking to make soaps using the Canadian maple leaf from the flag 🇨🇦. For those unaware, it's not the same as the standard maple leaf 🍁 mold I keep finding.

Does anyone have a supplier? I'd like the long tube-shaped mold, but I can work with the silicon ice cube tray style, as long as they're the shape I'm looking for.

Thanks!

I'm looking online for dishwasher detergent recipes, but so many people just throw whatever powdery or grainy substance they can cook with into a jar and call it dishwasher detergent.

I'd love to learn what can actually be put together to create a detergent safe for the dishwasher and that actually works! Bonus if you add in *why* the ingredients work together.

Please, chemists, I know you have the deets!
