Is this illegal?

i (23F) is currently working at a firm. i have to stay here for two more months to complete my work period, however ever since start of July they have stopped paying me saying that my work isnt up to their criteria but along with that they also said that they will pay me if i improve my work. So the whole of july i tried my best, there were days i had to work overtime and they also started using my work. However in August they did not pay me. When i went asking to the head lady (my firm consists of 12 people and its owned by 2) she said "oh it was already informed to you last month. we wont be paying you, your work is irrelevant and we can do it even without you" she continued to call me an office burden and said i should just leave rather than staying as a burden.

A little of backstory now: i work under a guy (lets call him john) and he gives updates to this head lady, when i spoke her about my salary and from the way she was talking it was evident that she did not ask john about my work and if it has improved.

I then asked her for clarity because i need to get paid to survive here. (Im literally borrowing money from my parents at this point. ) She said she will reach back to me with clarifications and where im lacking behind but no updates till now. Since she wasnt giving any updates i called her husband who is also the owner of this firm and spoke to him about this. HE WAS NOT AWARE OF SHIT. All he knew was i fucked up a little in the start and then no updates.

Im working without a pay and they never sent me a mail or gave me any letter saying they wont pay me.

My bar is officially too high for female friendships

I (20F) do not know how to drive but ive been trying to learn and i have a friend (22F), we study together. Few months back we moved to a different state with another girl. All three of us stayed together but then i had to move because of my work distance. My friend (22F) does not have license but knows how to drive. However she doesnt take vehicles on road because shes scared of traffic and no license.

She learnt to drive properly and started taking vehicles on road and got a learners permit all so that she can come and visit me. She then started driving short distances like 10kms by herself and tonight she is going to drive alone all the way from her house to my place for the first time - its a highway with a lot of traffic.

Im literally so happy and insanely proud of her. Man my bar is too high for female friendships.

Is my office culture toxic?

So I’m a fresher and I’ve been working at this company for a while now. At the beginning of June they told me that I wouldn’t get my salary unless my work quality improved.

I obviously understood that I’m a fresher and I have a lot to learn, so I spent the whole of June trying to improve. The thing is, they barely gave me any feedback during June. Nobody really told me what was wrong or what I needed to improve, so I thought okay maybe I’m actually doing better now.

Then July came and they didn’t credit my salary. I went and asked why and basically they told me that I can leave the company if I want to. They also said that me staying there without contributing enough is just making me an additional expense for the company.

Like I genuinely don’t mind being told that my work isn’t good enough. I’m a fresher, obviously I’m going to make mistakes. But I feel like they expect me to produce work at a level that’s way above what should realistically be expected from someone who’s just starting out, while also not really telling me what exactly I’m doing wrong.

And there’s another thing that’s been bothering me. The head is VERY obviously biased towards the men in the office and seems to hate the girls. The way she talks to us and reacts to our mistakes is completely different compared to how she treats the guys. I obviously can’t prove that this is intentional, but after being there for a while it’s become pretty obvious to me.

I don’t know if I’m being too sensitive about this or if this is actually a shitty workplace.

What would you guys do in this situation? Would you stay and try to prove yourself, confront them about the lack of feedback, or just start looking for somewhere else?

Something is in my house

I recently moved to a 2bhk in Goa, India. The house is full of crosses. im not saying like 5-10 physical crosses but crosses that someone sat down and drew with their hand. There are crosses from the top to the bottom of all the doors, cupboards, kitchen and even in the bathroom. We also found some Islamic prayer sheets and a religious photo. The irony is that the person who did this is a hindu. Im not being rude but the math isnt adding.
Now, two days ago we found handprints on the wall. its way up high at a place that none of us can reach. The lights flicker like crazy and the dogs howl at the same time. What is this?
