Playing Construction Sim again, before the new one comes out, but changing my play style so I don't get bored so easily
I've only recently start placing Construction Sim again, and this time around I'm try to be more methodical with things and dare I say 'more realistic'. Rather than going straight for the biggest pieces of equipment. Also spending more time in cab, and doing things like only only selling dirt loaded into tipper trucks (even if I use the empty feature), if I have to use a dump truck the dirt is tipped on site somewhere.
Operating the mobile crane inside the cab wasn't as hard as I thought. But you need to be quite close to the lift site and I wish there was a focus/lean forward option.
Historic city centre rebuild. Thorpeness UK inspired
Just got a larger display so challenging myself to only use in vehicle camera. But do you ever get used to the 'I'm about to tip over feeling'?
Small farm wip. Trying to recreate a field which is being harvested was a bit of a faff.
Thorpeness, UK. Population 96k. Progress so far
Help. The behaviour and routing of buses is driving me mad and I can't see if/what I'm doing wrong. They just refuse to turn left at a junction. It's almost like 3 lane 1 way roads don't work?

Hope I'm okay to post this. Shows my plan to rebuild my UK city of Thorpeness. I thought it may help to demonstrate a top tip for new players. Check below ๐
I often see people asking how to make their cities more realistic. Other than taking inspiration from real cities, using Google Earth and using mods, I think a big part of it is 'the story'
My city (Thorpeness) was lacking a back story, so I'm having to go back to rebuild parts. What the back story does is give the city a reason for existing. Be it an historic port city, market town, or key crossroads. From there you can naturally start to develop routes to outside connections. I think the "story" is often overlooked, but is important before you start building. My story is a bit of a retcon. But I'm developing Thorpeness into an historic port city and important trade route.
The moment you load your save an realise you quit after flipping a vehicle ๐ . I only loaded it briefly to see if my potato of a computer will run the game at 1440p and 60fps, which it does ๐
Thorpeness, UK inspired city. Population 100k. Still a lot of work to do, but it's getting there.
I finally have a 1440p monitor so I can capture some slightly higher quality screen shots.
Added M4 Supra to my collection. Think I'm happy with the ones I've got for now, maybe tempted to add a Bugatti and McLaren F1 at some point.
The amount of repair points the F750 can carry makes these sorts of recovery missions so much easier.
Trying to make the railways and the land around look a bit more realistic.
The "high-speed" track is just edited to 250km/h using Road Builder and a gravel road network over the top
