I heard the WiiU can be played online still, I cannot homebrew my console sadly as the SD card reader doesn't work, do I need to homebrew it to go online?

Are the WiiU discs more prone to rotting??? All my disks even if I barely ever used them are rotting with the only exception being Splatoon somehow, yet my ps1, ps2, ps3, gamecube, wii games are all fine lmao, I'm genuinely confused cause I haven't touched them, while all my other games read I guess my Mario Maker copy is dead, it doesn't go past the loading screen and I need to hard reset the whole console as it remains on the yellow screen 20+ mins and gome menu button doesn't respond.

I know it doesn't run at 60 ALL the time, but man, PG did such wizardry on the WiiU, this game looks and runs like if it came out yesterday, and its a game thats over a decade old.

I was under the assumption the emblems were just THE protagonist all together for fanservice as an anniversary game but I don't see these 3 being ok with living together lmao, so I'll assume it's not the real them or any of the emblems are the real protags.
I haven't played Engage till now so it may be a dumb post I am going blind into this game.
Still going blind through the game for the first time, Engage is so much fun, I've not had this much fun with the gameplay only since Conquest Lunatic.
I dislike the writing for the most part but legit, this is such a fun, good game.
It is also extremely tiring tho I can't do more than 1 chapter a day, 3 hours in just this map alone and theres still exploring and somniel before starting next chapter and saving in the preparations menu.
