Best time for San Francisco Bay?

Hello,

I’m planning to take my ASA 103 sailing course in Sausalito and would appreciate some advice on the best time to go.

I have the option of taking the course in either August or October. My goal is to become as comfortable and confident as possible taking a boat out on my own afterward.

From what I’ve read, August tends to have stronger winds and rougher conditions, while October is generally calmer and warmer. Would it be more beneficial to take the course in August so I can gain experience handling the boat in higher winds, or is October the better choice?
For context, all of my sailing experience so far has been in San Diego, so I know sailing on San Francisco Bay will be a very different environment.

Thanks!

Sole F80 for $1500 worth it?

Looks like the F80 is on sale for $1500. I see Sole being recommended often on this sub. Should I grab one for this price? Home use, most walking but running a few days per week as well.

Buying Process

My wife’s current lease is up this December, and we’re planning to purchase a GX550 around that time.

What are the current wait times, and what would be the best way for us to position ourselves to take delivery around December? Ideally, we’re looking for an Overtrail+ in Incognito Gray.

We’re located in the Denver area, if that makes any difference for availability or allocation.

Email from Seemingly Legit Microsoft Address

I got this email from azure-noreply@microsoft.com followed by another one stating that the job had failed.

To me it looks like they are putting the phone number and “Not you? Call immediately” as part of the job name. This way they can create the job and Microsoft will send the email from a real email address.

I blurred out some numbers that might trace it to me.

How to explain why I left

I started as a firefighter in 2016 as a volunteer. I then went to medic school and was hired full time in 2019. I worked full time until 2024 when I began to get burnt out and left the profession.

I loved being a firefighter, but hated being a medic. I’m now at the point where I miss it and am looking at applying to firefighter/EMT jobs this time around.

Is there a good way to explain why I left during the interview process without just saying I was burnt out?

Re-certifying after lapsed cert?

I was a paramedic from 2018-2024, but switched careers. My certification has obviously lapsed now, but I’m looking at getting re certified even if it’s at the EMT level. From what I can tell, NREMT just requires me to get 40 hours of continuing education, skills competency, BLS/CPR, and exam. Has anyone gone through this process? Where would I go for the skills competency portion?
