Give me your favorite multiplication memorization songs!

This is my 3rd year teaching multiplication and my first year they were great at just practicing facts with cards, last year I had a class that was super lazy and I couldn’t get parents to make them work at home, this year’s class is wonderful and willing to learn. They like music a lot and I think songs to help them remember times tables would be super helpful for them. Anybody got some good recommendations?

I gave up on the gastroenterologist

I thought maybe people here would understand why I told my GI office to F off and that I wasn’t interested in rescheduling. It started in 2024 when my PCP sent in a referral. I got an IBS diagnosis in 2015 after testing found nothing else, and I’ve been managing with ungodly amounts of Imodium, Pepto, and gas x since then. Thought it was time for a new work up. I call. They never call back. Finally one day in January 2026, they say they can get me in IF I come in the next day. I take off work and do it. Doctor is nice, we chat for a while, he basically says we can’t do anything until we have tests done. I say ok. Then billing calls… they want $1400 upfront before they will do the upper endoscopy or colonoscopy. I make 40k as a teacher BEFORE taxes. I talked to the doctor, said I couldn’t afford it right now and was told if I did bloodwork and stool tests that came back clear, they’d let me try questran to manage my symptoms. So I submit it, all clear, then they pivot to oh actually you need the scope first. So I up to the best insurance my employer offers (costs me an extra $200 a month) and get the upper scope done, costs $75. All clear, they still say no questran til after the colonoscopy. So I get it… all clear not even a polyp. Paid $90 up front. When they called with results I asked if could try questran or SOMETHING for symptom management, they told me I had to wait for my follow up appointment but that they’d get me in “soon.” I get a bill in the mail for an ADDITIONAL 1100 that they did not quote me on the estimate, even though it was all in-network. Tried to schedule the follow up AND IT IS A THREE MONTH WAIT AFTER THE COLONOSCOPY. I ask again for SOMETHING to help my symptoms, they say I have to wait til a follow up. And they kept telling me it was “normal” to be seeing a dr for 9 months already (2 years since referral) with absolutely nothing to show for it. I wasn’t as polite as I could have been. Good Lord I just want to try questran like they said I could MONTHS ago… but they kept moving the goalpost. I had an easier time getting benzos in college (haven’t had those again for years) and ADHD stimulants after my recent diagnosis. They just keep saying one more test, one more bill… then we can do something. I don’t think they’re ever going to. So I said take me off the schedule and do not call me again.

New daycare is NOT going well.

I am a teacher and after being home with me and his big brother all summer, my son (he will be 3 in a few weeks) started a new daycare. All we have in our area are in home and very small centers with only one teacher and it is SO hard to find childcare. He went Tuesday-Friday this past week and it has been ROUGH. His dad has been taking him, and he usually cries for 20 minutes or so after drop off then settles in. The issue comes when she starts putting out cots after lunch. He immediately starts screaming and screams the whole nap (even if he isn’t made to lay on a cot) and will not be quiet. He just says “call mommy” and “call daddy” over and over and screams himself hoarse. The rest of the time he is there after nap he is very easily upset and if anyone mentions mom/dad or sleeping he starts crying again. At his old daycare, he did this for 2 days then was ok… at this one he has been getting worse every day. The teacher says he’s so loud that none of the other kids sleep and she can’t find a way to calm him down. She very strongly implied that if it doesn’t get better next week he can’t keep coming. In that case I honestly don’t know what we will do because we waited months to get this spot. She said she was going to find some things to try including letting him play quietly in one of the rooms while the other kids rest… but I know he is tired and needs to nap and so far he had just screamed from seeing cots even if he doesn’t have to lay down. I don’t know what to do.

We are going to a big outdoor event tomorrow. Help me keep my adventurer safe!

My son turns 3 next month and we are going to a big fair tomorrow. It is a family tradition and we are all super excited because we don’t go places like this often. The last couple years he has been content in a stroller, but with how he has been lately I know he is going to want to be out and about walking. He is the most Velcro child possible at home but as soon as we leave…oh boy. I realized this and ordered a wrist leash thing for him, which has now been delayed and won’t be here in time. Walmart apparently no longer carries harness type things for toddlers in store nor do any of the other stores near us or on the way. I would have to drive at least an hour to a store that has one. Give me your unhinged ideas to keep him from sprinting off as he loves to do 😬 I will also have my almost 9 YO there and we are meeting up with some extended family.

ETA: I am still taking the stroller still because he will get tired of walking eventually I’m sure. But I think he is going to be pissed if he has to ride in it and brother is walking!

Laying with my toddler til he goes to sleep is so freaking hard for me.

First post, was only diagnosed a few months ago. I grew up being told by family doctors I had “anxiety” until I started seeing a therapist for the first time about a year ago and suggested the root of it was ADHD and advised me to get evaluated. Everything finally made sense. For me the hardest thing to do is nothing. My brain explodes. I cannot just sit with my racing thoughts and do nothing else it immediately makes me anxious. I think that’s why I have always struggled in cars (riding is way worse than driving). But I have found the thing that absolutely kills me is laying with my 2 YO til he goes to sleep. I have to just…lay and pretend to sleep while my brain tries to break. I can’t do anything on my phone, read, or move or he stays awake. I can feel my heart just pounding g while everything bounces around in my head. It is miserable. And I love snuggling him but the way he has to cling on me and grab me (for some reason he likes to try to squeeze my face and neck or dig his fingers under my collarbone) to kind of soothe himself to sleep makes me feel like crawling out of my skin. Something about the way it feels just sends me into fight or flight. And he ALWAYS has to be touching someone to sleep. Totally serious when I say he’s never slept more than an hour and a half alone since the day he was born….he will be 3 next month. But I am a high sleep needs person anyways and we both work, so my husband and I have been alternating nights or shifts with him the entire time because we are so desperate to get what sleep we can. I feel like I am doomed to be forever overstimulated and under-rested!

I am prepping today and my instructions sound… insane to be honest. I may not make it.

My procedure is 9:30 tomorrow morning and it is 8 AM now so I will be strictly on clear liquids until probably noon tomorrow. I had a colonoscopy in 2015 but don’t remember prep being this intense. I am having the colonoscopy because without daily Imodium I am constantly in the bathroom. Here soon am supposed to take 4 dulcolax then starting at noon 64 oz of Gatorade with 510 g of MiraLAX mixed in. I have noon to 8 to finish 48 oz then from 2 to 5 AM for the last 16. I am 4 ft 11, 90 lbs and have been in the bathroom 6 times since waking up and I haven’t even started the prep yet. It’s just because I haven’t been allowed to take Imodium/Pepto for days. It just seems bizarre to me that I, a very petite 35 YO with speedy gut motility, am instructed to take the same prep as someone who is say a 65 YO man that weighs 300 lbs and is chronically constipated. I honestly have no idea how I’m going to even get that much liquid in. I’ve called and talked to nurses twice and literally their only advice is “take is slow.” Gee thanks. Please help me. I’ve had 2 children via c section and I legitimately would rather go through another c section than this prep and procedure.

I cannot stop thinking about Zendaya’s makeup here. Give me recs to create something similar!

Ignore the meme format please that’s just the photo I came across lol. Obviously have incredible skin is probably step 1 which I do not. But I’d still love ideas for this look!

If you could give new subtitles to some seasons, what would they be?

Some are perfect as is… I mean, what else would you call Freakshow? But some of the others…not so much. For example, 1984 only spends the first half in 1984. Having 1984 in the title also brings to mind “Big Brother” and totalitarian regimes rather than slasher vibes. Maybe AHS: Camp Redwood or something similar would’ve been better? NYC also could have used a better name. It is just way too broad. So, if you could (or had to) rename each season, what would you call them?
