Just finished Resurrection Dreams…
Laymon did it again. I didn’t expect the ending to go like that, and I fucking adored it.
What are your guys thoughts on the book?

Personally, I’m a Christian but damn, who gives a fuck what other people wear lol. I’ve been to several metal festivals and each time seen several people wear that exact shirt… It doesn’t bother me.
“You’ll burn in hell if you don’t repent” is a very loving thing to say. Love thy neighbour?
To quote Havok: “God wants you to obliterate your neighbor, if he does not think like you, take a look at any holy book, and it’s crystal it’s true”
My judgement on this entire thing? ESH
I’m on my first watch of the show so no spoilers please, but fucking hell that episode was rough. I’ve never seen an episode of tv like that.
Anybody else feel just as disturbed on the first watch?
I’m not sure the genre specifics of this one. Tried to do an industrial rock kind of verse and then did an electronic build up into the drop. Any way I can make the drop harder?
I was born in 2008, 7 years after he prematurely passed. Throughout my tween/teenage years his works have brought me so much joy, entertainment and much needed escape.
Sometimes I will remember that Laymon isn’t around anymore, and it breaks my heart.
I just found out about an unpublished manuscript named Queen of the Sunset Palace, and it’s got my mind racing.
I would kill for unpublished Laymon novels, but all I want is for the man to be miraculously resurrected. He died way too young.
There is no author like Laymon, and he is my greatest inspiration for my writing.
Does anybody else feel like this? Or am I just insane
I was a massive hater of nu metal a few years ago. I thought “ew, Limp Bizkit? No thanks” and still hold that opinion to this day. I often found it ridiculous that bands I liked (Korn and Slipknot mainly) were lumped into the nu category because “they were far too good”.
Then, I discovered industrial nu metal.
Not as heavy as death metal or fast as thrash metal, I still determine it a metal subgenre. Bands such as Spineshank and American Head Charge really painted the aggressive way for nu metal, Dry Kill Logic, too. I think American Head Charge and Dry Kill Logic are criminally underrated. Dry Kill Logic, while silly at times, always provides a heavy banger on The Darker Side of Nonsense, aside from the closing ballad Goodnight. People say The War of Art is American Head Charge’s best album, but I prefer The Feeding these days, and I think a lot of the purist crowd would, even while still looking down upon it for it’s nu metal influences.
Powerman 5000 has Tonight The Stars Revolt! which is a good album. Then, they didn’t release Anyone For Doomsday? and rather, released Transform, a radio butt rock album that is entertaining, listenable but very weak in comparison to TTSR!
The discovery of those bands eventually led me into other areas which aren’t as metal (Orgy, Zeromancer, Professional Murder Music) but just as good.
Also, L.D.50 rips.
Thank you guys for coming to my TED talk. I’m expecting to be downvoted, contradicted and called a poser in the comments, and I don’t mind. I love all sorts of metal, I just also love nu metal (industrial nu metal, more specifically).
For context, I have been writing music quickly for the past 3-4 years.
I started by recording on bandlab with little to no equipment besides my ipad and my guitar amp. Then, a few months after, I got an interface for the ipad. After around six to eight months, I moved onto Garageband for around a year and a half.
I would have written over 200-300 songs within the last 4 years.
Eventually, only a few months ago, I moved onto Logic Pro and a Macbook. I suspected that my music would take professional shape finally, but…
I’m stuck.
I’ve written plenty of songs on Logic already, more than likely 30-40-50.
But now, I have worn out my style to a pulp and I don’t know what else to do that’s interesting or exciting.
Do you guys have any suggestions?
A youtuber I know just dropped this, seems interesting. As a huge AHC fan this is really cool
This is really making me speculative. If you remember me, I posted a youtube video I made about speculations for this album and now I immediately want to update it because I’ve got a lot to say lol.
Enantiomorph being over six minutes? My curiosity could not be more piqued right now lol.
The Arsonist being the shortest track? Mmmm I’m speculating something heavy…
Can you tell I’m excited? Lol
Been trying to find an itch that scratches similarly to Laymon but it’s so hard. He’s truly a one of a kind writer. I love 80s trashy b movies, and I’m wondering if there are any authors who write those kinds of books that can be associated to or in the same vein as Laymon?
