Got my first "real" cab today.

My other cabs are modern multicades with LCD screens.

Kind of an odd one. You play by rolling a billiard ball down the lane. Not my first choice, but I like the strangeness and it was only 20 bucks. 🤷‍♂️

May end up just cleaning it up and finding it a new home to be appreciated in.

Made it there, didn't make it back.

Was going good in some deep soft sand until I slowed, then she died and wouldn't start.

Couldn't summon any help today. Made it work with this jank. 😁

Wanted to get the roof rack welded up today, but needed to hold pipe in place and my friends weren't available. Looked around the yard and cobbled this to hold everything in place. Lol

Wasteland build continues.

Still need to build the roof rack and lift the rear/add chunky tires.

Interesting estate sale finds. Any info?

Anyone know what's up with these? The MTV ones seem to have been for playing in a retail environment. Says to return them to Pioneer after the noted play period. Then the Star Trek VI has a "for promotional use only" on it.

Decided to clean up the heavy sixer today.

So. Many. Q-Tips... Also hit the switches with a Scotch Brite and took a soft toothbrush to the flat surfaces. Cleaned up nice.

Tracking down BT interference source?

Hello Ham folks!

Apologies if this isn't the right place to ask about this. I figured y'all would have the right knowledge base to help me out.

I've noticed there's about a mile long stretch of my local freeway where Bluetooth connection always gets disrupted. Not occasionally. Every single day when I drive through that stretch, my phone's BT connection drops out.

I figure there must be some radio source in the area causing the issue and I'd really like to track it down.

Does anyone have suggestions on what kit I'd need to do this? Would I use a spectrum analyzer for this?

I know BT is in the 2.4GHz band.

Where to get hood strap springs for a decent price?

Hi! I'm trying to find somewhere I can get a couple of these strap springs that some sellers say are for model A hood straps. I found a couple online sources, but they are $40 a pop, which seems kinda expensive for what they are. Thought y'all might know of a good "gettin spot" for these. 🙂

Where can I buy steel in town?

Trying to find a place that sells scrap steel.

I had an employee who said he found a place a few months ago, but he had to move back east and I don't have his personal phone number. 🤦‍♂️

He said they had a really good selection of steel. I think it was a recycler. I tried aaa recycling by 99 and they don't sell scrap. They only buy.

Edit: for anyone that finds this and is also looking for steel. universal recyclers on tower sell some scrap steel. Mostly structural stuff and some pipe.

Still down for any other recs.

Work continues on Matilda

Found a cool bull bar at pick'n'pull off an '85 blazer. Think next project is the change to SOA in the rear.

Edlebrock 4bbl on an LA318 not allowing fuel to pass.

'72 Dodge Dart

Background:

Car had been sitting for probably 8 or so years. Ran when parked. After replacing some wiring and adding fresh gas, I got it running last summer.

It sat over the winter. I went out to start it up last week and she will only fire up on ether. Once the ether shot is burned, no more iginition. Added 4 more gallons of fresh fuel, still nothing.

Poking around under the hood, I wasn't smelling any fuel from the carb. Tried cranking it over some more then noticed fuel seeping out where the fuel line clamps onto the barb on the carb.

So I'm thinking it's pumping the fuel, but getting stopped up in the carb.

I'm not super familiar with carbeurators. Guessing I need to pull it off and disassemble to properly clean it out. Or do y'all think there's an easier fix?

The price of this drug makes no sense.

Been taking 5mg for months now. $400 per month = $13.33/pill @ $2.66/mg.

Mentioned to my doc that I'm really struggling with tiredness and I scored high on the depression assessment so he bumped me up to 10mg.

Just went to Costco to get the new script and it was $800. At first I was like, sure, double the meds, double the price. But nope, it was for a 90 day supply. So really it's $8.88/pill @ $0.88/mg.

So by doubling my dosage, I got a 66.9% discount.

And this is all after insurance.
