How can we disregarding anything?
We are Fandom forged or mirroring music, finding hidden games within games, counting toes, searching game code and reading a plethora of non-canon books.
The argument about the fnaf 1 date is just a biased as that of the unwithereds vs. Classics, people are too set in their ways. We all believe that fnaf 1 takes place in 1993 because matpat used wage measuring, all while we have the only CANON book suggesting that Ralph (who worked before mike) was working at Freddy's in 1989. In honesty it is sad to see that we cannot look to change our opinions when new evidence appears, choosing to disregard it as non-canon, an easter egg or simply because some sprites dont match.
That being said, id like to support my claim as to why fnaf 1 takes place in 1989:
- in the week before ralph commonly references films made in 1988, something that most likely would've been out of fashion by 1993.
- our main evidence for 1993 can only be found by taking sources from outside the fnaf universe.
- Fnaf 2 opens 2 years after the supposed closure of the 1983 location, assuming fnaf 1 opens in 1989 this continues the trend of being able to renovate and open a pizzeria within 2 years.
This is only a minute amount of evidence supporting my claim
All in all, we CANNOT simply dismiss evidence just because it is not directly called evidence.
EDIT: I mean to state that fnaf 1 location had to of opened in 1989, I am open to believe that fnaf 1 takes place later, assuming TWB is Ralph's last week, still doesnt explain why he'd be referencing 1988 films in 1993 though.
