Light Primer Strike almost ruined an awesome run

This is the 2nd match in about 2 years that I've run the Beretta 92X Performance. Had some issues today with it and it reminded me why I switched platforms.

While light primer strikes can be resolved with a heavier hammer spring, the better option is an extended firing pin like other companies make. There just isn't one around that I know of.

Run was still fast as hell, but the 1st shot on steel probably would have connected if the prior trigger pull wasn't a light strike. Who knows.

Anyway, Beretta needs their competition guns to have extended firing pins...

Never make up an Alpha NS with a NS

Swinger with 2 NS on it... Saw the perf hit Alpha NS, but wasn't sure it touched the line while shooting so I took a 3rd shot right into the NS...

Would have saved over .5 seconds just moving on. On a fast stage like this, the extra time really gets punished.

Magazine inserted in gun, no round in chamber starts

Local match had an ISPC style match with 10 stages and all kinds of different start positions. This was mag inserted, no round in chamber.

Figured it was faster to rack the slide while moving back as opposed to backing up on the double stack.

Strong Hand Only Stages

Local club ran IPSC format 10 stage with some fun short courses to test various skills. This was the unloaded strong hand only stage.

Stages like Classifiers

This stage was at our club last month. The stage briefing and set up were very much like Classifier 18-09

- 2 Strimgs with 6 targets

- Mandatory reload before engaging last target within a string

- Virginia Count

- String 1 starts at the rear fault line, String 2 starts at the front fault line

- Although stage layout is different, the targets are laid out in a similar shooting order.

Does anyone else think about classifiers when shooting stages or when designing stages for matches?

Smoking Reload with the Beretta 92x Performance Defensive

The Beretta 92X Performance has always been fun to reload with due to the large internal magwell.

It's been a couple years since Ive shot this at a match and it felt pretty good.

USPSA Classifier CM 22-04 "Calm Before The Storm" - 97% Grand Master

The Coyled Cobra Classifier channel has the complete 24 and 25 series (missing 25-05) with the new multi camera set up.

Trying to get all 18 through 23 series classifiers recorded in the new 2-3 panel set up like this one to be able to show all angles. Starting to add text overlays for explanations on the course of fire as well.

Was able to shoot another GM run on 22-04 which is one of my favorite classifiers.

Still working on editing the 26 series classifiers from this past weekend.

26 Series Classifiers! #26-03 "Mike Who?" USPSA Classifier - 117% Grand Master

The Coyled Cobra Classifier Channel has 26-03 loaded into the database!

26-04 and 26-05 were also shot today and will be uploaded in the next week or so as I have a lot of footage to go through.

Shot GM runs on all 3 classifiers with the current calculations but since these are provisional and actual HHF will change as people shoot them, the current 117% on this classifier and 137-140% on 26-04 and 26-05 will probably come down.

Howler Monkey site has the data coming through in real time for research as well.

Classifier 25-06 with Tanfoglio Stock 2 in Production

The Coyled Cobra Classifier database on Youtube has the complete 24 and 25 series. There are complete playlist that have HD and shorts format videos that are easy to sort.

Been shooting the Tanfoglio Stock 2 over the CZ Shadow 2 for the past few months and have been liking it.

Last 2 shots were close for a foot fault.

"El Presidente" Classifier 99-11 in Limited 10 with frame mounted optic

Trying out frame mounted optics in Limited 10 as it gets major PF with 40SW.

What better way to start shooting a new L10 set up than getting an 85% on El Presidente.

Nice things about my camera setups is you can actually see the red dot.
