Can I bring a non stainless 1911 to a mirror finish?

I’m having trouble finding what I want in stainless steel under 1500, but I can find a regular steel 1911 for 500 (with a black finish)

Can I take that cheaper pistol and give it a mirror finish? I know very little about metal working and gunsmithing

I got myself an AICS chassis

I had the opportunity to pick it up at a steal. It’s a 1.5 short action, and I want to drop a bergara into it. Which models are compatible with this chassis? Does it HAVE to be an HMR, or could it be a ridge or something?

If I got this, would it be possible to replace the black sights with color matched ones?

Supernatural fan trying to build dean winchester 1911 clone

I need to start with a mirror finish 1911. Would it be best to get a chrome plated, nickel plated, or polished stainless? I’m not super well versed on guns, but I’m learning.

What is your favorite caliber to shoot (in the long range sense) and why?

What are some underappreciated and lesser known ammos that you really enjoy?

Is it possible for me to take my desert eagle and get it barrel ported?

I just got a desert eagle and it’s a blast. I would like to be able to shoot it for longer though, as 50 caliber tends to beat up on me. Can I take it to a gunsmith to get that done? And would it even help that much?

Would milsurp .303 British ammo like this be harmful to my friends gun?

I want to get my friend some ammo for his birthday, and now I’m worried that the ammo I ordered maybe corrosive. I’m new to this and I apologize. I saw a thread talking about old ammunition having cordite propeller that would damage whatever gun it was made for

Noob here, is it possible to take a black gun to a gunsmith or something and have a reflective finish plated onto it?

I’m looking at a Matt black 1911, but I want it to be chrome. Is that a factory option only, or can I take it somewhere to have it done?
